Job description

If you're equal parts analytical and creative with a pulse on culture and a passion for building brands, we want to meet you. We’re looking for a Strategy Intern to join our team. This is a remote, part-time position reporting to the Director of Strategy and Insights. The role will be 10–20 hours a week at a rate of $22/hour for 3 months with potential of a permanent position.

Herman-Scheer is a brand consultancy that creates brands, products, and experiences for businesses that keep people healthy and happy. We focus on a range of sectors, including disruptive healthcare, wellness technology, healthy food and beverages, fitness and recreation, and personal care. We have a small growing team that is primarily remote with an office space in Venice for occasional in person meetings and working sessions.

As a Strategy Intern at Herman-Scheer, you'll gain hands-on exposure to the process of building modern brands from the inside out. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, asks thoughtful questions, and loves uncovering insights that shape storytelling, design, and innovation.

What You'll Do:
  • Research & Insights: Dive into cultural, consumer, and category research to support brand, content, and marketing strategy. Identify key insights that influence brand positioning, messaging, and creative direction.
  • Social & Performance Reporting: Help analyze data from social media, web, and content performance tools to support client reporting and internal case studies.
  • Strategic Thinking: Work alongside Strategists and Copywriters to develop positioning, audience definitions, value props, and creative briefs.
  • Internal Collaboration: Join weekly team meetings, shadow internal reviews and client presentations, and collaborate across departments to understand how strategy intersects with brand design, web, and content.
  • Presentation Building: Assist in building and refining internal and client-facing decks, helping shape narratives that communicate our thinking clearly and impactfully.

Requirements

  • You have at least 1 year of relevant work experience—whether at an agency, startup, in-house team, or freelance.
  • You’re currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in marketing, communications, cultural studies, business, or a related field.
  • You’re curious, self-motivated, and energized by collaboration.
  • You ask sharp questions and think critically about the “why.”
  • You’re tech-forward and an experimenter who enjoys playing around with tools and AI technologies.
  • You’re comfortable or open to learning tools like Figma, Google Analytics, and social analytics platforms.
  • You’re detail-oriented and thrive in environments where multiple workstreams are always in motion.
  • You’ve got your finger on the pulse of what’s trending whether online, offline, and everywhere in between.
