What do we need

We are seeking motivated and curious students to join Dotmatics for our 2025 Summer paid Internship Program. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in one of our dynamic business areas: Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A).

As a Summer Intern, you will be embedded with a functional team and work on real projects that support Dotmatics’ mission and growth. You’ll learn directly from experienced professionals, build your professional network, and contribute meaningfully to our business operations.

In this role you will get to: 

  • Collaborate with the executive team to refine and articulate the Company’s M&A strategy.
  • Support and (co)manage the end-to-end acquisition process, including: sourcing opportunities, building the investment thesis, managing due diligence, performing financial/valuation analyses, and negotiating transaction documents.
  • Build synthesized, data-driven perspectives on industry trends and companies across the life science software ecosystem.
  • Drive initiatives to establish best-in-class processes for strategic planning and corporate development processes.
  • Build industry relationships, including owners of potential acquisition targets, and processes necessary to sustain a high cadence of acquisitions in prioritized areas.
  • Prepare and present crisp and impactful presentation materials (both for internal and external audiences).
  • Cultivate and drive a culture of inclusion, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

 

We are looking for people who have an interest, education or experience in a combination of  2 of the following Life Sciences, Tech (SaaS), Finance.  The ideal candidate for this role will thrive in a fast paced environment and you should have a strong interest and a desire for an impactful role in a fast-moving and team-orientated environment. The role reports to the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development.

  • Ability to thrive and grow in a fast-moving environment
  • Capable of operating autonomously in a fairly unstructured environment
  • A strong desire to learn about the investment/acquisition process.
  • Excellent problem-solving, project management, and executive communication skills.
  • Comfort with a wide range of qualitative and quantitative analytics, especially as applied to market analyses and business case development.
  • Passion for and understanding of B2B software business models.
