About the Position 

We are seeking a highly motivated Sr. Energy Market Analyst to be a subject matter expert (SME) on ISO markets and U.S. federal energy programs. In this client-facing role, you will support pre-sales and implementation by translating complex market rules, configuring ISO market models, and guiding government-related advisory efforts. This role is critical to shaping how we communicate the value of our solutions to Independent System Operators (ISOs), government agencies, and customers navigating the dynamic energy landscape. 

  • Act as SME for ISO market rules, ISO structures, and U.S. federal energy programs. 
  • Lead and support technical discovery sessions, demo calls, and client briefings alongside pre-sales and implementation teams, craft technical responses to RFPs/RFIs, and deliver high-impact product demos 
  • Translate ISO-specific regulatory changes and market structures into actionable insights for internal teams and customers. 
  • Configure and maintain ISO market models using tools like PLEXOS or Aurora. 
  • Participate in NASEO and other technical discussions with all 7 U.S. ISOs. 
  • Provide guidance and insight on DOE grant processes and federal programs; understanding of energy grant-making is key. 
  • Monitor ISO market trends (CAISO, ERCOT, PJM, MISO, SPP, ISONE) and relevant federal policies (DOE, FERC, NERC) to develop whitepapers, webinars, and client briefings  
  • Work closely with product management to Identify emerging regulatory or policy themes and communicate them internally to influence roadmap based on client feedback and market developments.  
  • Attend ISO-hosted webinars, industry conferences, and provide feedback to shape solution messaging and product positioning. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, sales, and technical teams to refine go-to-market strategies. 
  • Understand customer pain points and align them with product features and roadmap direction. 
 
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications  
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in energy markets or related technical consulting. 
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, public policy, energy economics, or a related field. 
  • Knowledge and/or familiarity with market simulation tools (e.g., PLEXOS, PROMOD, AURORA, Adapt2). 
  • Deep understanding of ISO, RTO markets, electricity market design, and/or federal energy programs (DOE, FERC rulemaking process, etc.). 
  • Experience analyzing policy/regulatory impacts or navigating the energy grant-making process. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Experience working in a client-facing or customer advisory role. 

The pay range for this position is between $120,000 - 150,000 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
