Overview:

Sentara Health Plans is recruiting a Medical Coding Specialist/Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)/Certified Professional Coder (CPC)- Remote in VA

Status: Full-Time, permanent position (40 hours)

Standard working hours: 5am to 6pm EST, M-F (flexible schedule based on preference)

Location: This position can work remotely in VA.

Job responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the entire billing cycle, medical terminology, coding, charge entry, insurance adjudication, contractual agreements, payment posting, statements and collections.

Education:

  • HS - High School Grad or Equivalent REQUIRED

Certification/Licensure:

  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) OR Certified Professional Coder (CPC) REQUIRED

Experience:

  • 3 years of multi-specialty coding experience with Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), International Classification of Diseases version 10 (ICD-10), Heath Care Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) and Modifier Coding preferred.
