Operations/Production Support will be responsible for providing documents and data which are necessary to plan and run production requested by the Manager Production Site and the Team Lead Production. The goal is to bring transparency into production processes and to give guidance to production leaders.
Job Summary: The purpose of this position is to support manufacturing operations by ensuring adequate systems are in place for effective production planning and control, maintenance management, quality assurance, safety compliance, environmental compliance, waste disposal, material handling, warehousing, and product shipping and receiving.
Job Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and manage all aspects of production activity within a specific area or shift.
• Plan, direct, and supervise the work activities of employees assigned to production units.
• Implement procedures and policies to ensure safe and efficient use of equipment and materials.
• Maintain records of production operations including personnel attendance and performance appraisals, production output, quality control data, etc.
• Analyze production costs and establish methods to reduce costs.
• Interpret and communicate changes in policies and procedures to staff as appropriate.
• Confer with other managers to develop and implement long-range plans for production activities.
• Recommend ways to improve efficiency of operations.
• Comply with federal, state, and local regulations regarding safety, health, and environmental issues.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory agencies such as OSHA, EPA, FDA, etc.
• Monitor waste disposal practices to minimize environmental impact.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Maintain contact with peers and supervisors to keep abreast of policy changes and operational updates.
• Provide training on new processes and equipment to employees as needed.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associates Degree with relevant experience required.
Minimum of three years related experience and/or training in the biotechnology industry.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Knowledge of GMP guidelines and practices.
Experience with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Willingness to work in a team environment.
