The Opportunity
The Product Specialist is part of the Product Management division and reports to the Product Manager. You are a solution, technology, and commercial-thinking, team-focused professional. You will work on product specification, contributing to the prioritization of projects in alignment with company business strategy and market needs, and are accountable for the final product deliverables.
Role Responsibilities
1. Participate in the functional product development life cycle
- Meet with end users to gain a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer workflows.
- Support the product development process by participating in brainstorming sessions, prototype testing, and feedback collection.
- Assist in developing scope and providing detailed functional descriptions for new product features and improvements that are clearly understood by the software development and quality assurance teams.
- Participate in delivering user acceptance criteria.
- Participate in scrum meetings and product sprint planning.
2. Interact with cross-functional teams
- Actively partner with stakeholders including R&D, developers, UX, and others during the visioning and concept development phase.
- Work closely with the product management and business teams to create product specifications that fit the company goals.
3. Play out as a technical product Champion
- Assist in the preparation of training materials and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct technical training/demo for sales.
- Communicate complex scientific topics in simple terms to internal technical stakeholders.
- Participate in establishing a case study for customer presentation or marketing purposes.
- Present at conferences and trade shows.
- Product Maintenance: Ongoing care and support of product line, including monitoring customer satisfaction, competitor activity, new customer needs and sales support material, product changes and maintaining a business intelligence database for the product portfolio
4. Oversee the user needs
- Actively communicate with external end users for feature design.
- Participate in collecting customer feedback.
- Contribute to maintaining our product backlog.
- Participate in following competitors’ technical design for product features.
5. Support Marketing & Sales
- Help develop product launch plans in collaboration with Marketing including product training for Sales and other departments.
- Written content for marketing & sales.
- Create content for webinars and other sales activities.
- Technical documentation.
What you will bring:
- Master’s or PhD in life sciences, computer science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in bioinformatics or product management, ideally in oncology or molecular diagnostics.
- Strong understanding of NGS technologies, clinical genomics, and molecular pathology workflows.
- Familiarity with bioinformatics product development, regulatory frameworks (e.g., IVDR, HIPAA), and market dynamics.
- Ability to interpret scientific and clinical data and communicate it clearly across diverse audiences.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Fluency in English
- Highly organized, proactive, and team-oriented.
- Willingness to travel internationally and stay current with advances in the field.
