Job description

This is a remote position.

Work Schedule: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri - 9AM to 5PM

Client Timezone: Eastern Time Zone (EST)

We're seeking a detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to join our growing practice. This remote position offers the opportunity to work directly with case management and legal documentation in a professional environment. You'll be instrumental in managing high-volume case documentation while developing expertise in legal processes. The role offers significant growth potential, with opportunity to expand responsibilities over time. You'll work alongside legal interns and in-office staff while managing critical document preparation and filing deadlines for criminal defense and family law cases.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process legal discovery requests according to case timelines

  • Handle document preparation and filing for criminal defense and family law matters

  • Manage and track documentation deadlines across approximately 100 active cases

  • Organize and maintain digital case files using cloud-based systems

  • Process time-sensitive legal documentation with high attention to detail

  • Coordinate with office staff and legal interns on case management

  • Execute document preparation tasks with strict adherence to deadlines

  • Monitor case calendars and maintain document submission schedules

  • Assist with administrative tasks related to case management



Requirements
  • Native or near-native English proficiency with excellent written communication skills

  • Located in or willing to work Eastern Time Zone hours

  • Strong understanding of legal terminology or willingness to learn

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines

  • Proficiency with digital tools including cloud storage systems and calendar management

  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and quiet home office setup

  • Strong document preparation and processing skills

  • Professional demeanor and commitment to confidentiality

  • Previous legal administrative experience preferred but not required
