Job description

A Leading US-based web solutions company is hiring a Backend Lead/ Head (Node.js) for its Karachi office.

Client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Backend Lead / Head with deep expertise in Node.js. If youre passionate about backend architecture, performance optimization, and leading agile development teams, wed love to meet you. This role involves owning backend architecture, mentoring the engineering team, and driving backend innovation across projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the backend development team working on Node. JS-based applications.

  • Design and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs and backend services.

  • Establish and enforce coding standards, development best practices, and team workflows.

  • Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver end-to-end features.

  • Conduct code reviews, performance tuning, and refactoring for reliability and scalability.

  • Architect microservices and handle system integrations efficiently.

  • Ensure system uptime, security, and stability in a production environment.

  • Mentor and coach junior engineers to enhance their technical and professional growth.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 7+ years of backend development experience, with at least 3 years in Node.js.

  • Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, RESTful APIs, and event-driven architecture.

  • Experience with Express.js, NestJS, or similar frameworks.

  • Deep knowledge of databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, etc.).

  • Experience with containerized deployments (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, EKS) and scalable backend architecture.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GraphQL, message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka), and caching strategies.

  • Background in fintech or stock/crypto market platforms.

  • Knowledge of test automation and secure coding practices.
