Job Title: Cerner Applications Operations Manager - Health IT Delivery

Location: Remote (Must Work Pacific Time Hours)

Travel: Occasional On-Site Travel for Client Meetings/Events

Overview

HTC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cerner Applications Operations Manager to support and oversee day-to-day operations of the delivery team servicing one of our premier healthcare clients. This role requires a deep understanding of Health IT systems, strategic leadership capabilities, and the ability to drive operational excellence across a complex technical delivery landscape.

The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strong technical knowledge of Cerner especially in clinical applications and infrastructure, business acumen, and exceptional interpersonal skills. You’ll be at the forefront of governance, reporting, and ensuring service delivery meets high standards for quality, compliance, and performance.

The Operations Manager plays a key role in helping orchestrate and oversee the day-to-day operational activities of the entire delivery team at HTC’s client. While requiring detailed application and integration knowledge of the Cerner Millennium EHR, clinical applications and infrastructure, this knowledge will primary be applied to strategy and helping the broader team find creative solutions to challenges.

The successful candidate will also be proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other office suite of tools to create operational reports that are required for the customer review and oversight. These include project allocation reports, resource utilization reports, and monthly customer briefings with the CIO and other senior members of their staff.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Oversight & Governance

  • Lead daily operations and performance monitoring of delivery teams.
  • Drive IT governance meetings, ensuring effective communication and follow-through.
  • Oversee HTC staff adherence to quality standards, processes, and KPIs (ticket handling, project deliverables, etc.).

Strategic & Executive Support

  • Assist Client Executive in creating and maintaining IT strategic plans and shared service strategies.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, including resource utilization, project allocation, and monthly CIO briefings.
  • Recommend policies, procedures, and reporting tools in line with customer requirements.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Develop business cases, ROI analysis, pro-formas, and delivery governance documentation.
  • Maintain operational run books and SOP documentation with delivery teams.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Mentor, motivate, and retain top talent within HTC’s delivery organization.
  • Ensure onboarding, background checks, and compliance with customer-mandated requirements.
  • Foster a collaborative and proactive team culture.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as liaison for all stability and quality-related communications.
  • Build trust-based relationships with healthcare providers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Translate technical language into business terms for non-technical stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement IT process improvements to reduce costs and boost quality and satisfaction.
  • Monitor emerging technologies to support client business objectives.
  • Stay updated on HIPAA regulations and ensure compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive Cerner experience in integration and operations.
  • 5+ years of experience in Health IT within a healthcare provider setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of EMRs, PACS, Pharmacy Systems, Radiology Systems, and other clinical platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other office productivity tools.
  • Willingness to work during Pacific Time business hours.
  • Ability to travel as needed for client engagements.
