The Security Technician will be responsible for install, service, maintenance, inspections, repairs, and troubleshooting/diagnostics of access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection and intercom systems.


  • Travel to commercial client sites to install, service, repair, troubleshot security systems. Including but not limited to:
  • Card reader packages, access control panels, power supplies, ancillary door devices, IP and analog cameras, head-end video recorders, wired/wireless systems, intrusion panels, alarm devices, intercom stations and electrified and non-electrified locks
  • Program security systems after installation/service to commission them including installing software on windows or Linux operating systems
  • Troubleshoot system installations in a such a manner as to identify issues and to apply the most effective and efficient resolution consistent with company installation standards; identify and repair physical security systems as required to ensure operability and compliance with any applicable building code
  • Provide all necessary documentation for tracking of install and service-related issues
  • Use software while in the field to track install/service job updates and performance.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools, analog/digital test equipment required for working on security systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading and understanding electrical schematics, CAD drawings and related documents for their use in low voltage applications
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Provide phone and on-line remote diagnostic support as needed.
  • Drive safely to commercial client sites, with a company issued vehicle, to perform system installations and service work
  • Ensure that the projects meet customers’ expectations and are delivered per the customers detailed scope of work
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Service


What knowledge and skills are required:


  • High School Degree, Vocational School or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of field experience in the installation and service of commercial security systems
  • Experience with any or all the following preferred: Software House, Lenel, AMAG, Genetec, Brivo, Milestone, Exacq, Avigilon, Axis, Bosch, Commend, DMP, Open Options and Honeywell
  • Possession of state specific licensing (i.e. Class D or Alarm Installer etc.) or ability to hold license once hired
  • Understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems and overall IT network topology
  • Competency with network switches (managed and unmanaged)
  • Highly proactive and skilled individual, and always maintain performance consistent with Prosegur core values
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast based environment with minimum direction
  • Good communication skills for effective interaction with internal & external customers
  • Available for scheduled “on-call” duties to respond to emergency service calls
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, mechanical and electronics aptitude
  • Capable of lifting up to 50lbs and working on ladders/lifts as needed
  • Be able to work independently or as a member of a team
  • Ability to work in the field for a full 8 hours + per day
  • Ability to travel to different customer sites across all of TN.
