Additionally, we provide Functional Service Provider (FSP) Solutions, supporting our clients with scientific and technical expertise, acting as an extension of their team, coordinating all laboratory related needs, advising on strategies for lab data collection and providing end-to-end analytical and logistical solutions.

Summary:

The Senior Clinical Scientist, in Solutions Management, plays a critical leadership role within LabConnect’s Scientific Affairs team, providing scientific, technical, and operational expertise to support internal teams, laboratory partners, and sponsors. Specializing in clinical testing workflows, strategic planning, and cross functional management, this position ensures the successful implementation and execution of complex clinical studies through comprehensive solutions planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Business Development, Client Services, Data Management, Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), Finance, and Quality Assurance to ensure seamless startup and study execution.
  • Review clinical trial protocols develop analytical and operational strategies across the partner laboratory network.
  • Accountable for the development and execution of comprehensive implementation plans for complex studies and specialized testing strategies.
  • Align study start up timelines and internal and partner milestones to meet sponsor expectations and ensure operational success.
  • Support operational readiness activities including dry run testing using test samples prior to first clinical sample processing.
  • Act as an escalation point for technical challenges, proactively identifying root causes and implementing scientifically sound solutions.
  • Contribute to innovation initiatives such as Sapio integration, critical result reporting standardization, and future-state data harmonization strategies. Direct report leadership may also be a component the role with potential departmental growth.

Education/Experience/Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related health field discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Certification and specialty testing experience (bioanalytical, biomarker, molecular, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience in central laboratories, clinical research, or clinical trial support, including at least 3+ years of bench-level technical experience.
  • Proven experience in project management and matrixed environment leadership.
  • Strong scientific knowledge of laboratory testing methodologies, instrumentation, and qualification processes (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Ability to develop strategic solutions, evaluate resource planning, and align study timelines to milestone expectations.
  • Proficiency in reviewing clinical protocols and translating study needs into laboratory operational plans.
  • Familiarity with CLSI guidelines and global central laboratory standards.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills with a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working across internal departments, partner labs, and sponsor organizations.
  • Ability to influence decision-making with data-driven recommendations and build trust with external and internal stakeholders.
