About The IB
Generation Global is the International Baccalaureate’s (IB) global citizenship education programme. It enables young people, aged 13-17, to embrace the future, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to become active and internationally minded learners. Generation Global was established in 2009 and has worked in over 50 countries in Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa (MENA), Europe and the Americas, teaching dialogue skills to teachers and students, and facilitating meaningful global encounters between young people.
The programme has trained over 15,000 teachers and reached over 620,000 students globally. Content creation and writing:
Develop, review, and publish high-quality content across various channels, including social media, emails, blogs, websites, newsletters, and event collaterals.
Provide writing, editing, and proofreading support for team members, particularly for externally published content.
Design or co-design visual assets (e.g., images, videos, infographics) that complement written content, using tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
Ensure all content meets safeguarding, privacy, and ethical standards, obtaining necessary consents when using personal stories or photos.
Regularly update and revise website content to ensure accuracy and relevance.
Stay updated on emerging digital marketing trends, platform updates, and tools, and recommend innovative strategies to enhance communication efforts.
Social media management:
Oversee and manage Generation Global’s social media platforms (X, Instagram, WhatsApp groups) for audience engagement, platform growth, and advocacy.
Develop monthly editorial social media calendars, incorporating themes, creating content, drafting post copies, and collaborating with external designers on creatives.
Analyse social media performance metrics (KPIs) to assess campaign effectiveness and refine strategies. Create quarterly and annual social media performance reports.
Design and implement innovative social media campaigns and calls to action to increase site traffic, generate leads, boost brand visibility, and showcase programme impact.
Plan, execute, and manage paid ad campaigns on social media platforms like X and Instagram, focusing on objectives such as increasing reach, driving website traffic, and enhancing audience engagement.
Respond promptly to comments and interactions, ensuring consistent engagement with followers.
Propose creative, engaging content aligned with the programme’s vision and objectives.
Email marketing and newsletters:
Develop and execute email marketing campaigns using tools like Mailchimp, including segmentation, automation, and performance analysis.
Manage and grow the email subscriber list while ensuring GDPR compliance and best practices for audience engagement
Marketing:
Plan, execute, and manage marketing outreach activities and events to enhance Generation Global’s visibility, including webinars, conferences, teacher and school networking opportunities, awards programme, and promotional/referral initiatives.
Track key events and conferences in the ed-tech sector to identify speaking and participation opportunities for the team.
Conduct keyword research and implement SEO best practices to drive website traffic and improve search rankings.
Compliance and Additional Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with corporate policies, project systems and processes, including those related to safeguarding, security and legal matters
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., partnerships, technology, education & quality) to align marketing strategies with organisational goals and projects.
Maintain dashboards and documentation for transparency and knowledge sharing within the team.
Collaborate with partners on joint campaigns, developing content packs, calendars, and communication plans.
Undertake any other responsibilities that further contribute to Generation Global’s business plans, as required
About You
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
At least 5 years in marketing/strategic communications/ social media marketing; education sector experience preferable.
Proven ability to create visual assets for use across web, email, and social media platforms
Proficiency in managing platforms like Instagram, X, and others, including running paid ad campaigns and engaging with online communities.
Knowledge of email marketing platforms like Mailchimp to design, execute, and track email campaigns.
Familiarity with with Adobe Creative Cloud suite and/or similar tools (e.g. Canva, Figma)
Evidence of producing impactful and compelling marketing and communication material to a range of external audiences e.g. brochures, social media content, text, blogs, etc.
Ability to create, write, edit, and proofread engaging and high-quality content for diverse audiences and platforms.
Experience coordinating with partners, vendors, and collaborators to align on objectives and deliverables.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and prioritize effectively.
A proactive, self-motivated individual with a passion for achieving social impact.
Ability to analyse performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics, social media insights, and dashboards to refine strategies.
Ability to collaborate within teams and problem solve creatively.
Fluency in English is essential and another language, is desirable.
Experience working with remote teams appreciated.
Good research, writing, and oral communication skills.
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to travel globally as part of the role.
