We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented QA Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in test design, execution, and automation, alongside experience with SQL, APIs, databases, and testing tools. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products by implementing thorough testing strategies and working closely with the development team to identify and resolve issues.

This is a remote position with flexibility to work asynchronously, but it may require occasional meetings across North America time zones.

Day to day activities:

• Design and document comprehensive test plans and cases to ensure the integrity of software releases.
• Develop and execute automated tests using frameworks such as Cypress or Selenium.
• Perform manual and automated testing on APIs using tools like Postman.
• Work with databases and tools such as DBeaver for testing and validation purposes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to databases, APIs, and integrations.
• Develop scripts for automation using languages such as Java or Python (advantageous).
• Ensure continuous improvement in the automation framework and testing processes.
• Participate in code reviews and work with developers to improve test automation strategies.
• Identify, record, and document bugs thoroughly.

Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of test design and test documentation principles.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying and validating data.
• Hands-on experience with API testing and tools like Postman.
• Experience with databases and database tools such as DBeaver.
• Solid understanding of testing frameworks and tools for automation (e.g., Cypress, Selenium).
• Experience with Automation Testing processes and tools.
• Understanding of various Testing Methods (e.g., unit, integration, regression).
• Familiarity with operating systems for setting up test environments.
• Experience with scripting tools for automation.
• Advantageous: Experience in Java or Python for automation scripting.
• Methodical approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Inquisitive and exploratory mindset to continuously improve test coverage.
• Strong logic and reasoning skills for problem-solving.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) for documenting and reporting findings clearly.
• Analytical skills to interpret data and results and guide decision-making.
