We are seeking a senior-level UI/UX Developer with at least 5 years of experience, who is both technically proficient and deeply thoughtful about user experience. This is a critical individual contributor role, demanding a balanced strength in both UI and UX, and requiring leadership traits such as initiative, ownership, and strategic prioritization.

You will be the single point of ownership for UI/UX engineering across our platform, collaborating closely with product managers, design teams, and engineering leaders. Your day-to-day will include building components, architecting user interactions, and developing intuitive and delightful user interfaces — all while solving real problems for users across the globe.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of user interfaces that are functional, elegant, and intuitive.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and developers to define and implement innovative UI/UX solutions across the application lifecycle.
• Translate wireframes and high-fidelity designs into responsive, scalable front-end components.
• Own both low and high-fidelity wireframing, prototyping, and rapid UX iteration processes.
• Develop and maintain scalable design systems and reusable component libraries.
• Conduct usability testing and user research to inform design and engineering decisions.
• Champion best practices in responsive design, accessibility, and performance.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor developers, and uphold clean, maintainable code standards.
• Maintain flexible hours to support global stakeholders in USA, Europe, and APAC regions.
• Report directly to the Head of Product Management, influencing the product roadmap from a design/engineering lens.

Key Requirements

Technical Skills (UI Engineering)

• Advanced proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, React, jQuery, CSS, and Material-UI.
• Experience with state management libraries like Redux, and knowledge of lazy loading and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest and React Testing Library.
• Ability to build UI systems that are performant, modular, and aligned with business needs.

UX Engineering Expertise

• Proven experience in UX workflows, from wireframing to prototyping to usability testing.
• Deep understanding of human-computer interaction (HCI), design thinking, and user research.
• Proficiency in prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, or similar).
• Demonstrated ability to balance visual design with functional experience.

Leadership and Self-Management

• Strong self-starter, able to work independently with high ownership and urgency.
• Excellent prioritization skills with a natural ability to manage trade-offs.
• Comfortable leading design/UX conversations with engineering leadership and customers.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments using tools like Jira.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, experiment, and iterate rapidly.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to backend technologies such as Java, Scala, Spring Boot, or Play Framework.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Neo4j, and Elasticsearch.
• Prior experience contributing to design systems and UI libraries.
• Experience working in data management, analytics, or enterprise software domains.
