Job Summary

Our dynamic Ethos team is seeking a full-time/remote Special Investigations Unit (SIU) Manager to conduct investigations in the personal lines areas: property and casualty insurance claims. This role is critical in developing and executing investigative action plans, communicating with pertinent claims handling partners, and providing accurate and informed recommendations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in claims investigations (personal lines auto, and property), excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for analyzing claim information and developing an action plan.
  • Recognize compensability issues, misrepresentation, and understanding insurance coverage as it pertains to claim decisions.
  • Conduct investigative actions including recorded statements and interviews in addition to obtaining relevant and substantiating documents.
  • Coordinates and briefs relevant parties on files and investigative analysis.
  • Handle client communications, including managing distressed or unsatisfied clients.
  • Collaborate with senior management to establish and implement new protocols.
  • Work with other departments, including sales and operations, for strategic planning of assignments.

Qualifications

Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Legal Studies or related field (preferred)

Experience

  • Required: 2+ years of experience managing claims investigations, including auto-liability, property casualty, liability, disability, and worker's compensation files.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience within an insurance carrier or third-party administrator's SIU department.

Salary: $55000 - $75000 per year
