Your Team:

You will be joining Seesaw as a Paralegal - Redaction Services, working closely with our Legal and Compliance teams. This remote role, based in Malaysia, supports Seesaw’s mission to provide a secure and trusted learning platform for students, educators, and families around the world. As part of the team, you will play a crucial role in reviewing and redacting sensitive information in line with privacy laws and internal standards, ensuring that Seesaw maintains its high standard of data protection and compliance.

You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including legal, data privacy, and compliance teams to interpret redaction requirements, manage redaction workflows, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of redacted materials. This role is vital in supporting Seesaw’s continued commitment to student data privacy and legal integrity.

An excellent candidate for this role is detail-oriented, discreet, and thrives in a structured, process-driven environment. You will bring experience working with legal documents, redaction software, and data privacy regulations. Familiarity with FERPA, COPPA, and GDPR is a plus. You are comfortable working independently and remotely, with flexibility to work across time zones and manage sensitive workloads efficiently.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Review documents and materials to identify confidential, sensitive, or privileged content.
  • Redact information in accordance with guidance from Seesaw’s General Counsel and Seesaw’s internal policies.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and data privacy teams to align on redaction standards and best practices.
  • Use approved redaction tools and secure systems to manage document workflows efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate and well-documented logs of redaction actions, including rationale and decisions.
  • Ensure consistent quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of redacted materials.
  • Proactively identify process gaps and suggest improvements to strengthen redaction practices.

Your Requirements:

  • Degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in legal document redaction or a legal/compliance support role.
  • Familiarity with data privacy laws, particularly U.S. regulations such as FERPA and COPPA; knowledge of GDPR or other international standards is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to handle confidential data with discretion and integrity.
  • Proficient in using legal review and document redaction tools.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote, cross-functional environment.
  • Flexibility to align work hours with U.S.-based stakeholders when necessary.
