This position reports to the league’s Vice President of Communications and External Affairs.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of team dynamics, player rosters, local markets, and media landscapes.
  • Collaborate regularly with the league’s Communications department, contributing to shared goals and participating in ongoing planning and knowledge-sharing.
  • Uphold confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information and internal matters.

  • In-depth understanding of the game of hockey and experience creating media materials such as game notes, press releases, player bios, and postgame summaries in a fast-paced sports environment.
  • Must be proficient with computers and MS Office programs.
  • Ability to be on-site at select games, practices, events, and other activities in the Seattle and Vancouver markets, as well as potentially league travel to other cities.

Skills, Abilities & Attributes

  • Proven communications expertise with a track record of developing media strategies, managing brand reputation, and navigating fast-paced environments.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with a passion for hockey and experience producing media materials in a sports setting.
