The Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) is an independent government agency which, in partnership with Basin governments, manages the Murray–Darling Basin’s water resources in the national interest. The Position

Our Executive Assistants at the APS Level 4 classification provide support to up to two Senior Executive Service (SES) Band 1 executives (General Managers) and are trusted with varied, interesting duties and sensitive information. Executive Assistants generally ensure the smooth-running of the office, working closely with their executive and staff members within their branch to provide assistance as required.

Your Key Responsibilities In This Role Are To

  • Provide executive assistant support and general office management to the General Managers’ Office, working collaboratively with the relevant teams and support, on occasion, the Executive Director’s Office.
  • Be the first point of contact for enquiries, both internal and external stakeholders and emails as required.
  • Undertake the pro-active management of a busy calendar, schedule meetings and oversee the efficient management of enquiries and requests received in the Division.
  • Organise and prepare for meetings, including collation and dissemination of materials as required.
  • Manage, book and organise complex travel ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Acquit credit card expenses and personal reimbursements in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Co-ordinate timely management of correspondence received into the Branch and co-ordinate clearance of papers for various committee meetings and other clearance processes on behalf of the General Manager.
  • Undertake other additional and/or alternative duties as assigned from time to time.
