Job description

Make an impact as a MSWA Community Support Worker with permanent part time and Casual opportunities on offer. Be the difference for people living with neurological conditions.

Now is an exciting time to join MSWA. We are a leading disability services provider, supporting thousands of West Australians living with a neurological condition.

We’re looking for experienced, caring and empathetic support workers to join us, with a focus on our Perth northern suburbs locations.

Our Community Support Workers play a crucial role in delivering person-centered care and support in our client’s homes across the metro area. We know the difference a great client experience can make, and we want you to bring your skills and experience to improve the lives of our clients.

Whilst in the client’s home, there will be a few core activities that you’ll ace such as:

  • Providing personal care (e.g. showering and dressing) to promote health and well-being.
  • Medication administration & assistance.
  • Meal preparation, cleaning, cooking, shopping, and other household duties (the small stuff makes a huge difference!)
  • Supporting social access such as taking clients to appointments and helping them pursue social/leisure activities.
  • Working to meet the unique needs of the client by following their individualized care plans and helping them achieve their defined goals.

Our ‘must haves’

  • A genuine passion to make a difference in someone’s day - ideally within a similar type role.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills - both written and verbal.
  • Ability to assist someone with their day-to-day activities.
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check (or willingness to obtain - we can help there if required.)
  • Current Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence with no restrictions.
  • A reliable, roadworthy, licensed and fully insured vehicle.

Our ‘nice to haves’

  • First Aid/CPR certificate - less than 12 months old (training can be provided.)
  • A Certificate III or higher in a relevant discipline.

A little about us:

We exist to make a real and lasting difference to the lives of Western Australians - whatever their needs, whatever their neuro condition. The difference each and every one of our team makes can be felt in thousands of homes across the state.

Our collective efforts enable us to continue meeting the ever-growing demand for our allied health services, accommodation and service centres across the state, as well as our contributions to critical neuro research throughout the world, across the country and importantly right here in Western Australia.

Let us tell you a little about what you’ll get in return for joining our team:
