Glass Roots Construction (GRC) was founded in 2022 by a team of career telecom and construction professionals and is in need of a Project Manager to help us flourish. GRC looks to leverage the latest technologies and utilize the best-in-industry equipment, construction, and safety practices to build a first-class nationwide fiber optic construction firm. The successful candidate must be adept in data management, logistics, and operations, be excited about opportunities to learn and grow in their career and be able to execute various projects at a time. This position will report to the Vice President of Engineering and represents an opportunity to join an excellent team on the ground floor and learn a lot as GRC grows!
Role And Responsibilities
The Permit Manager is responsible for the tracking, submittals, communication, presentation, feasibility study, and research of all aerial / UG ROW permitting associated with fiber optic utility installation. To include all permit coordinators in their charge.
Key Responsibilities Include
Manage and train all permit coordinators to GRC standards.
Review and complete aerial and UG permit applications.
Review quality of aerial and UG permit applications.
Review and complete all permit tracking in Verofy, google applications, and Microsoft office products.
Meet with, present, and coordinate all jurisdictional meetings necessary for project kickoff.
Ensuring the timely completion of all jurisdictional deliverables.
Gather all jurisdictional related information related to project budget and all levels of Jurisdictional contacts.
Work directly with the project manager to oversee the overall success of the project,
adhering to company engineering practices.
Ensure communication of all permit approval dates and status are clearly
Oversee the submittals of OCALC, joint use appendix’s, and COI requirements while working with GRC leadership.
Ensure permit fees are processed quickly and efficiently while being tracked in GRC project trackers.
Help Coordinate communication for GRC leadership to evaluate construction
methodology with jurisdiction.
Create permit processes for permit coordinators in each market.
Coordinate with construction to maintain up to date reports.
Support Engineering PM in communicating engineering information to construction teams.
Assist the VP of Engineering with engineering dates for all permitting associated communicated with GRC leadership milestones.
Qualifications And Education Requirements
Minimum of 6 years’ experience with permit submittals.
Proven proficiency in various states and jurisdictions.
Proven success with communication and jurisdictional communication.
Understanding of utility construction processes and terminology.
Experience in various GIS practices for aerial permit requirements.
Strong technical/business knowledge in the telecom industry.
Verifiable experience in project management, operations, or business management.
Ability to lead a team of permitters and track various geographic regions.
Excellence in building rapport and creating a team environment where all those with
project responsibilities work well together.
Ability to maintain a high level of organization by ensuring daily job allocation.
Excellence in planning how each process should be done, how resources are acquired,
and when the project should be completed.
Ability to determine potential risks with each jurisdictional conversation.
Ability to welcome feedback and use it to improve the quality of production
Excellence in verbal and oral communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Strong data entry skills.
Microsoft office certifications encouraged.
Strong background in permitting for FTTx.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Process and documentation orientation, with a focus on continuous improvement
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Experience with Google Suite (Sheets, etc.), Zoho, and project management tools a plus.
Requirements
A valid driver’s license is required for all positions.
4-year degree, military experience, or 6-year minimum related working experience.
