To help facilitate our expanding business, RMS Energy is currently seeking an
Inside Sales Estimator to join our dynamic and fast-growing team. Our
Inside Sales Estimator supports the sales team by preparing accurate cost estimates, proposals, and quotes for company projects.
Location: Remote, US
Responsibilities
- Open opportunities in CRM, assign job numbers, and create sales folders in SharePoint
- Collect information required for quote, such as: ( Due dates required site walk dates, RFQ, Drawings, Pictures, Scope documents, and p ast information for jobs being re-quoted.)
- Review contract documents and compile scope information for review, send T&Cs for review.
- Compile sales support information, COI, safety/EMR info, bonds, etc.
- Evaluates bid documents and creates cost estimates and proposals for labor, materials, equipment, or services associated with project specifications, bid requests, and requests-for-proposal.
- Compile quotes for outside materials and services (crane, scaffold, equipment, etc.)
- Create project proposal document and ensure consistent, professional formatting. (i.e. Compile scope details provided by regional manager/superintendent, include any details and clarifications required in bid docs, and c ompile sales support info and documentation as needed.)
- Compile and send bid documents summary, estimating sheet, and proposal for review to Regional Manager, GM, Sales Manager, etc. for review prior to submittal.
- Submit proposal to customer, update CRM with submittal date and price.
- Keep CRM information up to date and accurate and run CRM reports for division managers.
- Sales to operation management when projects are closed-won.
- Sales prospecting calls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in engineering or equivalent
- Ideal candidate will have working knowledge of electrical testing and maintenance
- 3+ years of inside sales or estimating experience, preferably in the utilities or industrial fields.
- Valid Driver’s License
Skills
- Must know how to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Familiar with CRM solutions, such as ZOHO.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other basic computer skills.
- Employs professional and effective communication in dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
- Thrives in collaborative team environment.

- Primary office location is remote
- Travel is required (10-20 %)
Working Conditions
This job requires the ability to work extended hours, including evenings, nights, and weekends, as needed. Work may be conducted outdoors in all weather conditions, near low-, medium-, and high-voltage equipment and heavy machinery, in areas with elevations of 100 feet, and confined spaces adhering to strict safety protocols. Exposure to loud noises from machinery is common, necessitating the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). This job involves risk of electrical shock. This job requires frequent travel between RMS facilities and customer sites . This role also requires prolonged periods of sitting, working at a computer, and performing tasks that demand visual acuity for reading and typing.
Physical Requirements
Physical requirements include the ability to occasionally lift and carry office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds, the capability to move within the office to access files, office machinery, and meeting rooms, and fine motor skills for keyboard use. Proficiency in speaking, hearing, reading, and typing in English is essential for effective communication and documentation. The position demands physical mobility to navigate uneven surfaces. Good vision, including color vision and depth perception, and the ability to hear alarms and communication in noisy environments are essential.
