In this role you will…
Lead a team of claims consultants to execute coverage decisions, timely and accurately evaluate loss and ALE reserves, and develop claim execution strategies.
Coach and mentor a team of claims consultants to meet professional development goals.Monitor consultant's work product for compliance with company standards and develop any necessary corrective action.
Utilize strategic thinking and planning to effectively negotiate settlements when appropriate.
Manage a multi-state panel of defense counsel to represent MedPro policyholders.
Oversee execution of internal large loss protocol requirements.Support claim consultants in case presentations to executive level.
Participate in quarterly audits of claims consultants throughout the organization.
Efficiently manage litigation costs, both fees and expenses.
Attend and monitor trials as necessary.
Provide service to insureds, brokers, agents and interdepartmental colleagues.
Assist in Marketing efforts as requested.
Attend to file documentation and communication timely and effectively.
Perform other duties as assigned.
We are looking for candidates with…
Bachelor’s degree (JD preferred).
10+ years of relevant claims experience with experience in negotiation and trial monitoring.New Jersey territory preferred.
Analytical skills, sound judgment and leadership qualities, including the ability to mentor consultant personnel.
Knowledge of policy coverage provisions and issues.
Technical knowledge of multi-state medical liability litigation.
Ability to work in various systems effectively and efficiently.
Prior supervisory experience (preferred but not required).
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills with emphasis on timely and effective communication and file documentation.
Ability to work independently and build a strong, collaborative defense team.

General: MedPro Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The annual gross base salary range is $140,000 to $180,000. This range anticipates the low and high end of the salary for this position. Actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and competencies. Salary is one component of MedPro’s total compensation and benefits package, which includes medical, vision and dental insurance options, life and accident insurance, 401(k), and short-term and long-term disability insurance.
