Job Description:

Our work depends on a Senior Configuration Analyst joining our team to support our Healthcare Integrated General Ledger Accounting System (HIGLAS) program with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

As the Senior Configuration Analyst, you will join a team of other Configuration Analysts and Configuration Management (CM) Tool SME(s) to ensure application-centric deployments using the appropriate underlying application software versions are successfully executed to multiple environments while adhering to related ITIL processes and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Responsible for completing deployment requests across several products and environments within an Agile/DevOps program.
  • Work closely and partner with program stakeholders (functional, technical, testing, process) to evaluate and support what needs to be deployed to which environment(s), at what time, using what methods and validations.
  • Provide functional and administrative Subject Matter Expert (SME) expertise for applications and tools that directly support the CM process.   Release upgrades and patching may occur in concert with others such as functional teams, so proactive planning becomes important to avoid disruptions.
  • Demonstrate expertise and training to other program teams on how to use or understand configuration management, version-control and deployment tools and processes within the CM area of ownership.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of proper security and audit controls as defined, and maintained to ensure only authorized people can perform the intended actions on the applicable data and environments.
  • Ensure application-centric deployments using the appropriate underlying application software versions are successfully executed to multiple environments while adhering to related ITIL processes and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Provide support for Emergency Changes and weekend deployments as needed. Create and maintain a complete inventory of all deployments across. the program and instances.
  • Create and maintain a complete inventory of all deployments across the program and instances.
  • Prepare comparison reports for deployed releases in Test and Prod to ensure that only approved tested code is being deployed to Prod.
  • Participate in Technical Operations and/or Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings as needed.
  • Create Process documents and Standard Operation Procedures for various functions
  • Support proper version control of software deliverables, SOP’s and Work Products.
  • Support status reporting that meets the needs of the intended stakeholder and timeframe.
  • Provide evening and weekend support as needed (approximately 1-2 weekends per month).

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • BS/BA and 3+ years’ experience working in similar business-critical, large-scale application environment, or the equivalent combination of education and experience as outlined below:
  • 3+ years of overall hands-on experience as a Configuration Analyst, or IT resource responsible for using and/or administering Configuration Management (CM) and version control applications/tools (such as ConfigSnapshot, FlexDeploy, or GitLab).
  • 1+ years of experience operating in an ITIL/ITSM process area.
  • Tenacity to prevent unauthorized exceptions to CM processes despite business pressure.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills needed to interact with other teams within the program.
  • Ability to work independently, under general supervision.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office products.

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU ALSO HAD:

  • Experience with and/or knowledge of Oracle EBS
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of UFT/QTP (MicroFocus Unified Functional Testing) or similar products.
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of FlexDeploy or similar products.
  • Experience with the ServiceNow platform.
  • ITIL Foundation certification v3 or higher.  Intermediate education/certification for configuration management.
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of GitLab or similar products.
  • Experience with CMMI
  • Experience in a Federal O&M environment.

LOCATION: Remote

CLEARANCE: Ability to pass CMS background check and meet the residency requirement for having resided in the US at least (3) three out of the last (5) five years in order to obtain a Public Trust.

The likely salary range for this position is $87,550 - $118,450. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
