Job description

Technical Account Manager, Food & Nutrition


This role is located in the West Coast, the ideal candidate will be in Colorado, Utah or California.


This new role will be instrumental in supporting IMCDs focused efforts within the fast-growing Nutrition sector. Key market segments where the candidate would connect within the region to manage and develop further business; Early Life, Active Lifestyle (Sports Nutrition, Weight Management, Healthy Nutrition) as well as Medical Food Nutrition. Our ingredient portfolio best suits key applications supporting this segment, where you would bring impact solutions to customers who produce; Bars, Ready-To-Mix blends, Ready-To-Drink beverages, fortified gummies, gels, sachets, medical nutrition foods, just to name a few. You will be developing key relationships with brand owners as well as building strategic relationships with contract manufacturing networks.

Responsible for developing and maintain sales within a specific business unit utilizing the Key Sales Performance Indicator system and other tools made available within the organization. In conjunction with the Principal Managers, ensure that the business plans for each of our product lines are implemented.


Successful candidates will be responsible to:

Setting, regularly reviewing and revising Call Frequency Schedule

Meeting call plan set for each account

Maintaining Existing Business / Profit Contribution

Maintain and reporting on business on regular basis, review variances regularly and report/take action as required

Ensure margin contribution is maximized (and maintained)

Developing / Progressing Targets

Sales representative is responsible for progress on existing targets and identification of new targets

Evidence of new business being landed and new opportunities being added on a regular and consistent basis

Building / Cultivating Relationships

Minimum requirements – thorough and complete understanding of the customer’s business

Multi-level relationship development initiated and planned by the sales representative

Involvement of other IMCD personnel and principals

Reporting submitted in a timely manner

Follow guidelines for information required for Existing Business reports

Follow guidelines for Target Business reports

The sales representative is responsible for the accuracy and thoroughness of their product/activity reports

Other duties as assigned


Skills:

Customer relationship management

Establish connections between customer and CSR’s to ensure day to day fulfillment, requests, issues are resolved in a timely/efficient manner

Complex organizational skills to coordinate and communicate between multiple customer contacts, internal resources and Principals

Develop prioritized account growth plans, including annual forecasting and budget

Manage account profitability – profit contribution

Deliver assigned sales KPIs (call/visit frequency and reporting, Opportunity targets and updates, revenue, margin, prospect accounts, maintaining clean CRM data)

CRM compliance against Call Prep and Product Reporting – Action items and account updates

Complete account coverage by Principal

Active participation in local industry events, trade associates, etc.

Execute sales activity relative to slow/dead stock

Monitor contract balances and advise customers of inventory still to be shipped



Required Qualifications:

Minimum of one to three years’ experience in technical sales, distribution experience preferred but not required

B.S. Degree in Science, Food Science, Business or relevant field of study

Proven experience in organizing sales calls and schedules, and evidence of detailed reporting is required

Proven track record in developing and maintaining client relationships

Proven track record in developing new sales and accounts


Desired Qualifications:

Hunter mentality with passion for seeking new business and closing deals

Competency in SFDC, Sales Management Systems, and Microsoft Office or equivalent

Exceptional skills in developing and maintaining client relationships

Demonstrated enthusiasm and self-motivation

Must be hands on and enjoy a broad range of activities

Will exhibit an eagerness for contributing beyond immediate duties and getting the job done

This job currently operates in a remote work environment.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and the hours of work and days are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise directed. Additional hours may be required as needed.


Travel

Travel will be required

40% with some overnight travel
