Job description

As an IT Program Financial Analyst, you will apply financial modeling and analytics expertise to enable decision making for strategic M&A programs and other projects. You will be part of a finance business partnering team which leverages Technology Business Management (TBM) practices and software solutions to enable cost transparency, foster IT and Business alignment, and help IT leadership teams manage and communicate the cost, quality, and value of technology investment.

Reporting to the Manager, IT Finance Business Partner – Strategic Initiatives, you will support IT Program Financial Analysis and decision support for the American Health EVB Program. This includes aiding in monthly reporting, forecasting, financial reviews, annual budget development, and capital investment planning.

What You’ll Do
• Manage robust program financial consolidation models and analytics identify to emerging trends, support decision making, and create forward-looking insights.
• Manage the production of existing and development of new program reporting tools, (dashboards, scorecards, resource estimation workbooks, etc.) and KPI’s that enable actionable insights on program expenses, capital project spending, headcount trends, risks or opportunities.
• Provide ongoing financial modeling and analysis expertise to senior IT leaders to support resource management, capital investment and procurement decisions.
• Lead analysis and review of monthly actuals (including accruals), updates of monthly and multi-year forecasts through detailed review and analysis of new and re-occurring contracts.
• Perform various ad hoc financial analysis or summaries for IT Leadership to assist in decision-making, transparency and the financial impact of various program scenarios.
• Support validation and review of JIRA Drive decision making framework for IT spend approvals
• Align forecasts within Apptio to ensure leaders have visibility into the near and long-term program expense projections.
• Ensure forecasting data within Apptio matches external expense models.

The Background You’ll Need
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics. An MBA in Finance or advanced degree in a quantitative field is preferred.
o Experience: 7+ years progressive IT financial planning and analysis experience focusing on IT operations, projects or strategic initiatives
o Advanced knowledge of financial data modeling, IT analytics, cost classification, and IT service costing strategies for IT functions.
o Knowledge of complex resource funding models with the ability to assess the impact of capitalized labor and expense offsets from budget variance and forecast perspective.
o Prior knowledge of the Technology Business Management (TBM) framework with experience managing IT budgets for Application Development, Information Security, Infrastructure and Operations, or Information Security areas of a technology organization.
o Experience in a rapidly changing environment and comfortable proposing, justifying, initiating, and implementing change.
o CMA, CPA, FMVA or FPAC certification preferred. Technology Business Management (TBM) or FinOps certifications are a significant advantage but not required.

• Proven expertise in IT financial management processes such as budgeting, forecasting, cost allocations, and project performance analysis.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP, and expense handling for internally developed software and cloud computing arrangements.
• Strong project management, organizational and influencing skills: self-directed, and capable of engaging collaboratively across multiple functions to achieve results through others; express ideas clearly and persuasively in oral, written, and presentation forms.
• Highly developed problem solving and analytical abilities to frame problems, analyze solutions, and build detailed project plans to size strategic alternatives and deliver appropriate recommendations.
• Experience with Workday, JIRA, ServiceNow and Adaptive Insights. Experience with Apptio One and TargetProcess is a plus.
• Advanced level proficiency in PowerPoint, and Excel (if statements, vlookup, power pivot/query), SQL and macros)
