Summary
The position of Associate Prospect Management Officer is integral to the success of Children's Medical Center's fundraising program. The Associate Prospect Management Officer is responsible for a wide range of prospect management tasks including, but not limited to, monitoring the data management of prospect activity, engaging in pipeline development and analysis, and assisting with implementing prospect management processes and procedures. This role will meet with gift officers regularly to present data-informed recommendations and ensure fundraisers are prioritizing top solicitation opportunities towards fundraising efforts. This position will work closely with other members of the Prospect Development team to develop, manage, and maintain healthy prospect portfolios; evaluate and identify prospects; build prospect pools for identified priorities and strategies; and assist in the overall needs of the Prospect Development team. The Associate Prospect Management Officer will serve as a subject matter expert on issues related to portfolios, pipelines, and opportunities, and is expected to actively participate in the development of strategic processes related to those areas.
Responsibilities
- Manage the health, composition, and ongoing activities of fundraiser portfolios
- Conduct regular updates, monitoring, and clean-up activities to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistent usage of the Raiser's Edge database.
- Partner with fundraisers to inform prospect strategy and help move prospective donors through stages of the fundraising cycle.
- Provide complex reports and analysis, handling both regular and ad-hoc requests for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support ongoing projects to identify, qualify, and quantify the Foundation's prospect pool through the use of screening, data mining, and statistical analysis of existing constituents, and confirm prospect ratings obtained from electronic screening services.
- Partner with Foundation's Operation’s team to develop and implement policies, trainings, and processes to enhance Foundation-wide knowledge and usage of the Raiser’s Edge/NXT database and prospect research/management policies/tools.
- Analyze donor gift capacity and propensity through individual, corporate, and foundation financial and philanthropic information, as well as areas of philanthropic interest and level of attachment to Children’s.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in prospect management and data tracking
- Possess an ability to think strategically, have an acute sense of accuracy, the ability to listen carefully, communicate and advocate effectively in a complex matrix organization. Must be able and willing to share credit for successes and encourage the integration of others’ ideas and proposals. - Create well-written and researched profiles, snapshots and briefs using biographical, financial, and philanthropic information available from publicly-held sources.
- Uphold Foundation and System policies regarding confidential information while conducting ongoing evaluation of all prospect research processes, including managing central files.
- Safeguard the confidentiality of donor information at all times.
Work Experience
- At least 3 years of job related experience Required
- At least 5 years of job related experience Preferred
- fundraising or related field experience Preferred
- Previous CRM experience, Raiser's Edge preferred Required
EDUCATION
- Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Required
