The company supports over 100,000 organisations in 60 countries to deliver innovative solutions and advanced technology. With 34,000 employees, it helps businesses navigate a dynamic global economy, driving success and resilience.

About the role:

Our client is searching for a Head of Cloud Platform & Engineering — a global, strategic and hands-on leadership role within a growing, multicultural Cloud Infrastructure & Engineering team. The Head of Cloud Platform Engineering is responsible for both technical and people leadership of the Cloud Platform function, which plays a central role in delivering enterprise-wide Cloud Strategy and reducing the on-premises footprint.

This is your chance to drive the evolution of a global enterprise cloud platform, modernise legacy infrastructure, and embed security, automation, and scalability into the company’s cloud DNA. You’ll shape strategy, lead a high-performing team, and partner across technical domains to accelerate innovation and platform maturity.

What you'll be doing:

You will lead a team of 10 cloud engineers to shape the future of a global enterprise cloud ecosystem. If you're passionate about engineering at scale, leading diverse teams, and building secure, resilient platforms, this could be your next big move.

🔹 Cloud Platform Landing Zones

  • Lead the roadmap and engineering of new features in the Azure Enterprise Landing Zone
  • Define and evolve long-term Landing Zone strategy using CAF and Well-Architected Framework principles
  • Ensure governance, security, and compliance are integrated into platform foundations
  • Continuously improve core components like networking, identity, monitoring, logging, and cost controls

🔹 Application Migration & Enablement

  • Guide and support the migration of legacy apps into the cloud platform
  • Partner with Architecture to validate that new solutions follow cloud-native design principles
  • Enable development teams through coaching on IaC, CI/CD, and DevSecOps best practices
  • Oversee automation efforts and a modernisation roadmap across digital products

🔹 Platform Operations & Support

  • Ensure resilience, DR readiness, and uptime across enterprise-wide platforms
  • Drive the resolution of recurring incidents and enforce strong SLI/SLO practices
  • Provide oversight across platforms like the Global Data Platform, Single Web Platform, and AI Gateway
  • Champion OpenTelemetry, full-stack monitoring, and observability initiatives

🔹 Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and develop a global team of 10 Cloud Platform Engineers
  • Promote a culture of ownership, collaboration, and technical excellence
  • Coordinate closely with Architecture, Security, Networking, Identity, API, Data, and App Dev teams to deliver cohesive solutions

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years designing and running secure, scalable cloud platforms
  • Proven experience leading cloud engineering teams in complex, enterprise environments
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, particularly Landing Zones, governance, and automation
  • Strong hands-on skills in Terraform, Bicep, ARM, CI/CD, and DevOps tooling
  • Solid architectural background and automation-first thinking
  • Proficient in high-availability, multi-region setups with robust observability practices
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security, identity, and API governance
  • Exposure to DR patterns, FinOps, and cloud cost management
  • Experience with technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, Sitecore, OpenAI, REST, and GraphQL
  • Familiar with Azure services such as AKS, Container Apps, WAF, Traffic Manager, App Service, Centralised Logging, and API Management
  • Comfortable working in Agile environments and with platform product ownership

Some Benefits:

  • Relocation assistance: We’re here to help with your move (if applicable).
  • Yearly bonus of up to 10% of your salary
  • 25 days of paid vacation, plus an extra 6 sick days
  • Training and courses, fully covered
  • Work from modern, comfortable offices or work from home part-time
