Healthcare Integration Engineer : Manager

The Opportunity: 

EY is seeking a motivated and talented Healthcare Integration Consultant with expertise in leading healthcare integration engines to join our growing Digital Health Practice. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects with our public and private health clients across the UK and Ireland. The successful candidate will work directly with clients to understand their integration needs, assist in the design of interoperable health and care services, and support the implementation of solutions aimed at improving patient outcomes and care delivery processes.

 

Your Key Responsibilities: 

  • Design, implementation, and optimisation of integration solutions, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Collaborate with clinical and technical clients to understand their integration needs and assist in the design and delivery of interoperable solutions.
  • Work closely with on-, near-, and off-shore technical teams, vendors, and external partners to ensure successful integration and data flow.
  • Support business development pursuits to drive growth in the Digital Health Practice, particularly in integration-related services.
  • Provide HL7 FHIR subject matter technical expertise consultation and hands-on technical guidance for interoperability projects, assisting with design and data flow of public health interfaces.
  • Maintain understanding of current and emerging public health interoperability standards and understand implications of current and future usage.

 

 

Skills and Attributes for Success: 

To excel in this role, you should have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject, such as Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional services working experience in a healthcare context, with a focus on healthcare integration solutions.
  • Proven experience with healthcare standards (such as HL7 v2, FHIR, openEHR, IHE, SNOMED, etc.).
  • Good understanding of HL7 messaging (ADT, ORM, ORU, etc.) and healthcare data workflows.
  • Familiarity with FHIR, IHE, and other interoperability standards.
  • Good working experience in any healthcare integration engines or Rhapsody integration engine or Microsoft integration services or any other integration systems.
  • Familiarity with electronic data interchange (EDI) EDI engines such as Rhapsody.  
  • Familiarity with the UK and Ireland healthcare system landscapes and reference architectures is a plus.
  • Proven experience in delivering large-scale integration solutions in healthcare environments.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in integration scenarios.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • In-depth understanding of clinical and technical client needs related to integration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively, ensuring timely delivery of integration projects.
