Purpose of the Role:
The SAP Supply Chain Functional Lead is responsible for overseeing the functional delivery of SAP solutions for supply chain processes. Serving as a key interface between business stakeholders and technical teams, the Functional Lead ensures the successful implementation, optimization, and support of SAP supply chain functionalities. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, improving process efficiency, and ensuring business objectives are met through effective SAP utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Functional Solution Design:
- Analyze business requirements and design SAP solutions to address supply chain needs.
- Configure SAP modules such as SAP MM (Materials Management), SD (Sales and Distribution), PP (Production Planning), TM (Transportation Management), and EWM (Extended Warehouse Management).
- Ensure that solutions align with industry best practices and business goals.
- Implementation and Delivery:
- Lead the functional implementation of SAP supply chain modules, ensuring successful configuration and testing.
- Collaborate with technical teams for system integration and data migration activities.
- Validate end-to-end processes to ensure system readiness and minimize disruptions.
- Business Process Optimization:
- Evaluate existing supply chain processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Recommend SAP-enabled best practices to optimize procurement, production, inventory, and logistics operations.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary point of contact for business users regarding SAP supply chain functionalities.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, prioritize deliverables, and coordinate project activities.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment between business processes and SAP capabilities.
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead a team of SAP consultants, ensuring high-quality functional deliverables.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
- Coordinate with project managers to meet project timelines and milestones.
- Training and Support:
- Develop training materials and conduct workshops for end-users and business teams.
- Provide post-implementation support, resolving functional issues and ensuring system usability.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, process flows, and functional specifications.
- Develop dashboards and reports to monitor supply chain performance metrics.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Functional Expertise:
- Deep understanding of SAP supply chain modules (e.g., MM, SD, PP, TM, EWM).
- Knowledge of integration points between different SAP modules and external systems.
- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA and SAP Fiori applications.
- Business Process Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including procurement, inventory management, production planning, and logistics.
- Ability to translate business requirements into functional SAP solutions.

- Analytical mindset with the ability to address complex supply chain challenges.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- SAP certifications in relevant supply chain modules (preferred).
- Professional Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in SAP supply chain implementation and support roles.
- Proven expertise in configuring and delivering SAP supply chain solutions in industries such as manufacturing, retail, or logistics.
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and project lifecycle management.
- Technical Skills:
- Experience with SAP Solution Manager and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with advanced supply chain concepts, such as demand forecasting, predictive analytics, and IoT integration.
- Tools and Technologies:
- Proficiency in data migration and system testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of integration tools and APIs to connect SAP with third-party systems (e.g., warehouse management or logistics platforms).
