Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

The Medical Staff Registration Administrator assists with administrative activities related to medical staff onboarding, medical staff bylaw support; and information management related to medical staff documentation. As a member of the Provincial Medical Administration Office and under the general direction of the Provincial Medical Staff Immigration and Onboarding Specialist, the incumbent will work closely with a variety of entities to support the onboarding of physician assistants/clinical assistants to Shared Health/Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Programs. Under the direction of the Executive Director and Manager of the Provincial Medical Administration Office, the incumbent will also assist with administrative activities related to supporting medical staff bylaws and information management.

Experience
  • Five years directly related experience in progressively responsible administrative roles required. 
  • Previous experience in healthcare administration required.
  • Experience with the development, maintenance and ongoing report generation from spreadsheets and databases required.
  • Requires experience interacting with medical staff in highly-sensitive situations.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Complete high school education, Manitoba Standards, required.
  • Completion of a relevant post-secondary program in business administration or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Human Resource certificate and/or Healthcare Management certificate preferred.
  • Formal training in applied office skills is required.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Knowledge of Medical Staff credentialing and CPSM licensure requirements required.
  • Typing speed 65 wpm.
  • Proficiency with computerized systems (Microsoft Office -Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, email and computerized calendars) required.
  • Experience with Monster, Word Press and DocuSign considered an asset.
  • Ability to track issues, manage follow up, and provide summary reports when requested.
  • Requires astute judgment and human relations skills, the ability to think critically and to interface and communicate in an articulate manner with medical staff, administrators, legal counsel and hospital personnel.
  • Exceptional written/oral communication and time management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Must possess a high-level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, and carry out assigned tasks interacting with all levels within a team-based organization.
  • Ability to organize workload and resources to meet deadlines and contractual requirements.
  • High-degree of integrity, dependability, honesty, tact, ethical standards and ability to work with confidential matters.
  • Working knowledge of current healthcare provider issues and payment methodologies a definite asset.
Physical Requirements
  • Typical day involves working at a computer and in frequent meetings.
  • Lifting and carrying of up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities and competing demands. Frequent interruptions.
  • Must have a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle for regular travel within the province.
