Position Summary:

RSM’s Global Banking Practice is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Internal Auditor – Regulatory at the Senior Associate level for a fully remote opportunity. This individual will support internal audit engagements and regulatory validation efforts for large banking clients, with a strong focus on core internal audit execution, risk assessment, and compliance testing across finance, reporting, and IT-related controls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and execute core internal audit activities, including planning, fieldwork, control testing, and reporting in accordance with IIA standards.

  • Perform risk-based assessments and evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, including those related to regulatory reporting, finance data, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and corporate functions.

  • Support regulatory issue management, including validating remediation activities and ensuring sustainability of control enhancements.

  • Assist with audits and validations tied to regulatory frameworks such as OCC Heightened Standards, Basel, SR 11-7, FRB, and FDIC expectations.

  • Prepare clear, concise, and well-supported workpapers and internal audit reports.

  • Engage directly with client stakeholders in Risk, Compliance, Finance, IT, and Internal Audit functions to communicate audit objectives, status, and findings.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and changes in the regulatory landscape impacting large financial institutions.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

  • 3–5+ years of core internal audit experience, including execution of risk assessments, audit fieldwork, control testing, and reporting.

  • Background in auditing within large banks or financial services institutions.

  • Familiarity with key regulatory areas, including IAM, regulatory reporting, and compliance risk.

  • Strong communication, project management, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote team environment.

  • CPA, CIA, or CISA preferred (or actively pursuing certification).

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $36 - $54 per hour
