WHAT YOU’LL DO
You will work as a strong and experienced Database Developer with a solid background in MS SQL Server and SSIS, contributing to a multi-disciplinary agile team. Reporting to a Team Manager, you will help deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable data solutions.
The candidate will be assigned various tasks such as:
- Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL Server solutions, including stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
- Develop and support SSIS packages for ETL processes, enabling efficient data movement, transformation, and integration across systems.
- Modify and enhance existing SSIS packages to improve data integration capabilities.
- Address and resolve customer issues and defects with timely, high-quality fixes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new product features and enhancements.
- Support test automation efforts by creating testable database components and contributing to quality assurance practices.
- Prioritize and work on performance tuning, database optimization, and code refactoring.
- Apply a strong understanding of relational database concepts, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Participate actively in agile development processes and ceremonies.
- Analyze and troubleshoot complex problems with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and customers—this is a customer-facing role.
- Work independently with minimal guidance in high-pressure, time-critical environments.
- Develop, test, and optimize advanced stored procedures, views, triggers, and functions.
- Perform rigorous quality checks on reports and data exports to ensure exceptional data accuracy.
- Conduct performance analysis and tuning of stored procedures handling large data volumes.
- Write test cases and develop test automation scripts using tools like tSQLt or JMeter.
- Develop and enhance reports, queries, and data exports to align with evolving business requirements.
- Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle—from design to deployment.
- Write well-structured, testable, and efficient code to ensure optimal database performance.
- Ensure database design aligns with company standards and industry best practices.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and propose enhancements to data architecture for review.
- Leverage experience in cloud engineering, operations, and architectures—AWS or Azure preferred.
- Understand critical business requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.
- Consistently meet deadlines, targets, and adopt programming standards and best practices.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in new programming and integration technologies.
WHAT YOU’VE DONE
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior MS SQL Developer to join our Data and Engineering team. This role is ideal for someone who can clearly demonstrate what you have done in SQL Server development, performance tuning, and managing large, complex datasets in enterprise environments.
To succeed in this role, you should have 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience and be able to showcase what you have done in designing, developing, and maintaining advanced SQL Server-based data solutions. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our data systems.
Knowledge and skills required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated ownership and successful delivery of end-to-end implementation projects — be prepared to highlight what you have done in leading such initiatives.
- Proven ability to analyze and develop code for highly complex technical and functional requirements — show what you have done to tackle similar challenges.
- Hands-on experience in documenting, researching, and resolving issues throughout the SDLC — include examples of what you have done to improve quality and stability.
- Proficient in code reviews, with a strong track record of proactively implementing SQL unit testing and automation — showcase what you have done to drive development best practices.
- 10–12 years of deep technology experience with a proven track record in hands-on technical roles — emphasize what you have done to stay technically relevant and effective.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, clearly articulate ideas, and write specifications — illustrate what you have done to facilitate collaboration.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), T-SQL, and development of Stored Procedures — demonstrate what you have done in real-world scenarios.
- Advanced analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills — share examples of what you have done to resolve critical issues.
- Real-world expertise in performance analysis and tuning — highlight what you have done to optimize queries, procedures, and indexing strategies in production environments.
- Solid understanding of data modeling principles and techniques — explain what you have done to ensure efficient data design.
- Familiarity with XML, JSON, and schema files — be ready to detail what you have done using these formats in data integration or transformation tasks.
- Experience in report generation, vendor exports, and executing data warehousing tasks — outline what you have done to meet business data needs.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) — describe what you have done to streamline data flows and ETL processes.
- Proven ability to adapt quickly and learn in a dynamic technical environment — show what you have done to stay ahead of evolving technologies.
