A well-respected boutique firm specializing in family law matters such as divorce, child custody, and spousal support, is seeking a Family Law Associate to join their growing team. This role offers the opportunity to manage your own caseload, draft motions, conduct discovery, negotiate settlements, and argue motions in court. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer, confident advocate, and self-starter who takes ownership of their cases.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 / year DOE
Family Law Associate Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of approximately 20 family law cases
Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery requests
Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies
Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations
Argue motions and second-chair trials
Maintain billable hour goal of 1,700 hours per year
Family Law Associate Requirements
1-4 years of legal experience, preferably in family law
California Bar License
Strong legal writing and research skills
Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Confidence in presenting cases and interacting with clients
Passion for family law, with a willingness to be involved in the legal community
Experience with Clio, Westlaw, and Microsoft Office is a plus
