Job Title: Vice President, Contracts, Pricing, and Proposals       Company: AKI

Job Summary: 

The VP of Contracts, Pricing & Proposals shall direct and have accountability for the obligations and personnel of the contracts, subcontracts, pricing, and proposal departments in accordance with all Akhiok-Kaguyak, Inc policies, procedures, and corporate objectives. The VP of Contracts, Pricing, and Proposals shall support all corporate executives in business planning related to these departments, coordinate with all peer-department heads, and manage all supporting department personnel. 

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Direct and Manage the Contracts Department.
  • Direct and Manage the Sub-Contracts Department.
  • Direct and Manage the Pricing / Financing Department
  • Direct and Manage the Proposal Department.
  • Co-Direct and manage the Purchasing Department with Accounting.
  • Direct and Manage all corporate infrastructure related to the above, to specifically include but not limited to: Policies, Procedures, Plans, Logs, Workflows, Templates, Checklists, Internal Assessments, and both internal and external corporate reporting.
  • As requested, produce analysis of contracts and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred.
  • Participate and contribute to strategic planning efforts to establish the growth targets and performance goals for the company.  
  • Assist in needed Business Development support to provide subject matter expertise in both opportunity development and project support
  • Accountable for supporting ISO and CMMI systems and how their performance contributes to not only your achievement but, the achievement of ISO and CMMI compliance across the organization. 
  • Report any issue that they see or perceive to be a deterrent to quality and our ISO and CMMI compliance.
  • Look for improvement opportunities for both ISO and CMMI systems, bring those to the attention of management. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities 

  • Direct and Manage AKI’s Contracts, Subcontracts, Pricing, and Proposal Teams in accordance with all Human Resources Policies and Procedures. 
  • Monitoring, Planning, and Managing staffing requirements to meet current and future business plans.  
  • Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of newly hired staff.

Required Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; extensive experience working in a similar capacity may be considered in lieu of a degree. 
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience performing and coordinating contracts, subcontracts, pricing, and proposal functions.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Strong background in working with tribal entities preferred.

  • Excellent writing, communication, listening, and inter-personal skills, including ability to work closely with board members, executives, managers, co-workers, and outside contacts.

  • Possess strong analytical skills in order to review, evaluate, and synthesize information.
  • Superior organizational and information management skills, as well as time management.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality, integrity, and tact in dealing with sensitive information.
  • Problem solving and demonstrating initiative to improve process, procedures, etc.
  • Knowledge of Akhiok-Kaguyak, Inc, its subsidiaries, non-profits and shareholders.
  • Ability to make decisions and exercise good judgement.
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently with minimal supervision in a discreet and confidential manner.
  • Ability to publish reports and present to senior leadership team, as requested.
  • Possess and demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity, respect, flexibility, and sound work ethics.
  • Position may require extended hours using a computer in an office setting and lifting up to 25 pounds.
