Senior Technical Consultant – Tier 2
Position Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: 85,000 - 125,000 OTE
Location: Remote – US
What you will be doing:
The Senior Technical Consultant – Tier 2 will work remotely with the Managed Services team (SIGSERV), supporting global clients running QAD and Progress databases across various platforms. This role requires advanced expertise in QAD administration, Progress Database administration, Linux systems administration, and client-facing support services. The candidate must possess strong troubleshooting skills, demonstrate professionalism, and independently manage complex issues while adhering to Company values throughout. This position demands functional and technical excellence, customer focus, and a strong ability to independently manage and solve complex issues in a high-pressure environment. - QAD Support Across Versions
- Provide advanced support for all QAD versions, including troubleshooting, maintenance, performance tuning, and process improvement.
- Meet and exceed SLAs for response and resolution times.
- QAD Application/Functional Support
- Provide application and functional support for QAD modules, ensuring efficient configuration, troubleshooting, and process optimization in alignment with client needs and business operations.
- Progress Database Administration (DBA)
- Proactively and reactively manage Progress databases, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and minimal disruptions.
- Progress Application Server Support and Troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced issues with Progress application servers, minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth operations.
- Tomcat Administration
- Perform advanced Tomcat administration tasks, including upgrades, patching, and performance monitoring.
- Linux Administration (QAD-related)
- Oversee advanced Linux system administration tasks, including scripting, tuning, troubleshooting, and managing peripherals such as printers and email servers.
- Virtualization, Backups, Disaster Recovery, and Security
- Ensure environment security and availability through effective virtualization, backups, disaster recovery testing, and adherence to security protocols.
- Networking in a Linux Environment
- Manage and troubleshoot complex networking configurations in Linux environments to prevent service disruptions.
- QAD Installation and Configuration
- Install and configure QAD systems, ensuring setups meet client requirements and industry best practices.
- Troubleshooting with Client Stakeholders
- Collaborate directly with client stakeholders during live troubleshooting to resolve critical issues effectively.
- Customer Support Excellence
- Deliver outstanding customer support through clear, timely communication and swift resolution of technical issues.
- Time Management in a Fast-paced Environment
- Prioritize multiple high-priority tasks effectively in a dynamic work environment.
- Independent Problem-solving and Process Improvement
- Develop innovative solutions to technical challenges and enhance processes by updating documentation and sharing knowledge.
- Compliance and Controlled Environment Management
- Maintain compliance within environments audited annually under SOC 1 Type 2, SOX, FDA, or other regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications:
- College/University degree or the equivalent combination of education and related experience (10+ years)
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in a support or customer service role.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients across technical and executive levels.
- Intermediate knowledge of IT Service Management, Linux administration, Progress administration, QAD systems, AND QAD ERP Functionality.
- Experience in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience with ITSM tools (examples, ConnectWise, ServiceNow, Jira, monitoring).
- Experience with ERP application administration and support is a plus.
- ITIL Foundations/Strategic Leader, ITSM Training certification - Preferred but not required
- Network and Security administration Training – Preferred but not required
- QAD and/or Progress Database Administration Certification - Preferred but not required
- Familiarity with diagnostic programs and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Familiarity with process adherence, documentation skills, escalation awareness
