Job description

What do we do?

Paddle offers digital product companies a completely different approach to their payment infrastructure. Instead of assembling and maintaining a complex stack of payments-related apps and services, we’re a Merchant of Record for our customers. That means we take away 100% of the pain of payment fragmentation. It’s faster, safer, cheaper, and, above all, way better.

We’re backed by investors including KKR, FTV Capital, Kindred, Notion, and 83North and serve over 5000 software sellers in 245 territories globally.

The Role:

We are looking for a resourceful, ambitious, and autonomous sales specialist, preferably with a strong understanding of SaaS or Payments, eager to contribute to ambitious growth plans in the Americas. This is an exciting time for you to join: based on the size and breadth of our customers, we are growing like never before!

As a key member of our Sales team, your primary focus will be to convert qualified leads into delighted Paddle customers. You'll engage directly with a diverse range of companies, from SaaS to AI to app companies to established enterprise businesses within these landscapes, as they explore their e-commerce provider needs. Your role is critical in helping us define, drive, and achieve our revenue targets, ultimately bringing us closer to our vision of making Paddle the go-to solution for SaaS businesses worldwide.

What you'll do:

  • Manage a book of business of strategic prospects within the Americas and lead the development and execution of deal strategy and commercial negotiations.

  • Drive new business through strategic prospecting and effective leveraging of Business Development Representative support and Marketing resources to execute on account plans and build a robust pipeline.

  • Own the full sales cycle, expertly managing all stages including discovery, value positioning, objection handling, and champion building, while effectively influencing stakeholders to progress deal cycles.

  • Employ a visionary solution-selling approach, clearly demonstrating Paddle’s immediate impact and strategically aligning our solutions with customers’ long-term company goals.

  • Master Paddle’s product and possess an in-depth understanding of its features, the broader industry, and the ability to articulate Paddle’s value proposition effectively to CTOs, Heads of Product, and CEOs.

  • Identify each client’s unique needs through thorough discovery and collaboratively develop effective and tailored sales strategies.

  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Customer Success, and Partnerships teams to comprehensively understand client needs and develop effective, integrated sales strategies.

We'd love to hear from you:

  • Have extensive closing experience in a software or SaaS business, managing multi-threaded sales processes and enterprise deals

  • Have experience with consultative, value-based selling and a proven track record of exceeding your quota

  • Have experience selling highly technical products/services

  • Are great at liaising with prospective clients in person, over the phone and email.

  • Have an entrepreneurial attitude which thrives when solving complex challenges and you want to be part of an exceptionally fast-growing company

It'd be great if…

  • You have experience in the payments space or selling B2B SaaS.

  • Prior experience at a growth stage Internet/software company.

  • Experience selling to technical persons, (CTO, Head of Product, (Technical) Founders).

  • You’re familiar with eCommerce providers such as Stripe, Braintree, PayPal, Cleverbridge and subscription based services such as Chargebee, Zuora, Recurly.

  • Able to operate in an unstructured, self-starting environment.
