What You’ll Do 

Telstra’s in-house creative agency is looking for a Senior Creative to lead the visual brand identity, and modular design approach for all of the brand’s 1:1 marketing and CRM communications.  

This role will own the brand look and feel across all touchpoints, ensuring that email, SMS, push notifications and other personalized marketing communications, including direct mailers are visually engaging, on-brand and optimized for performance.  

The Senior Creative will concept and define a scalable design system for the customer journey in 1:1. Collaborating with copywriters, strategists and marketing automation teams to ensure consistency, efficiency and personalization in Telstra’s customer communications. 

 

This role requires deep expertise in CRM designs and concepts, an ability to combine creativity with data-driven decision making and a strong understanding of how visual elements impact engagement and conversion rates.

  • Elevating Telstra’s creative standards across all touchpoints, including all CRM and 1:1 communications.

  • Ensuring customer insights and data-driven strategies inform creative solutions. 

 

Responsibilities: 

Brand Guardianship & Channel Best Practice  

  • Serve as a brand steward, ensuring all design work adheres to Telstra’s visual identity, typography, colour systems and layout principles.  

  • Oversee design execution across CRM & 1:1, ensuring consistency and quality.  

  • Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to translate strategic objectives into strong visual narratives.  

  • Maintain brand consistency across all CRM touchpoints, ensuring all designs align with Telstra’s broader brand identity. 

  • Apply data-driven design enhancements, leveraging heatmaps, click-through rates and audience engagement insights to refine visuals. 

  • Lead A/B testing initiatives, experimenting with layouts, colour schemes and imagery to improve performance

Conceptual  Leadership & Design Expertise

  • Develop CRM-specific concepts and campaigns ensuring visual craft across all touchpoints. 

  • Define visual best practices for email and SMS design, optimizing layouts, typography, colour use and interactive elements. 

  • Ensure mobile-first design principles are followed, guaranteeing seamless experiences across devices.  

  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in design, editing and platforms. 

  • Experiment with new tools, AI-driven editing techniques and immersive formats to push creative boundaries. 

Collaboration & Team Development  

  • Work closely with CRM copywriters and automation specialists to create cohesive, high-performing content. 

  • Support and mentor the Mid-Weight Designer in the 1:1 team, ensuring consistent and high-quality execution. 

  • Provide technical expertise on design for CRM automation tools, ensuring seamless email rendering across all major ESPs (Email Service Providers). 

  • Support and mentor junior designers, fostering their creative growth and professional development. 

  • Maintain an atmosphere of collaboration and innovation, encouraging the team to explore new creative techniques. 

  • Help guide best practices in workflow, file management and creative processes to improve efficiency and quality.  

Here’s how you can bring this role to life: 

Knowledge & Experience  

  • 7+ years of experience in Creative, especially CRM design, digital marketing &email & development. 

  • Expertise in conceptual design, modular frameworks and scalable 1:1  campaign creative  

  • Strong understanding of personalized marketing, segmentation and customer journey-driven creative execution. 

  • Experience working in a data-driven creative environment, leveraging analytics to inform design decisions. 

  • Familiarity with UX/UI principles for email and mobile-first customer journeys.  

Skills  

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and Sketch. 

  • Understanding of HTML & CSS for email design (preferred but not required). 

  • Experience working with marketing automation platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Campaign or similar). 

  • Knowledge of email rendering across different email clients and platforms. 

  • Experience in motion graphics or interactive design for CRM is a plus.
