Mission and Goals

We are looking for a Product Design Director to drive the design direction across Gen's products, with a key focus on the LifeLock and Norton Money experiences. This role addresses an important design leadership gap, ensuring a cohesive, strategic, and customer-focused approach to product design. The Product Design Director will provide the oversight necessary to align cross-functional teams, define a clear experience strategy, and elevate the quality and consistency of our products. This role is vital not only to improving user satisfaction and trust but also to accelerating execution, strengthening our brand, and supporting long-term business growth.

  • Short-term goals: Improve user acquisition, drive design strategies that optimize customer engagement, and enhance product design.
  • Long-term goals: Lead a design team that contributes to sustainable business growth through continuous design innovation, customer-focused strategies, and strong collaboration.

Objectives

  • Lead a global team of designers to drive key business metrics such as user engagement, conversions, and customer satisfaction across Gen’s product portfolio.
  • Develop and execute A/B or multivariate tests, analyze results, and provide actionable suggestions based on data.
  • Partner with product marketing, sales, and other teams to define optimal information architecture and create user journeys that drive user acquisition.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand customer needs and behaviors, identifying opportunities for growth through data-driven design solutions.
  • Provide strategic direction based on experimentation and data insights, influencing decisions across all aspects of product design.
  • Create, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to leadership, offering insights into the drivers of growth and areas of improvement.

Competencies

  • Experience: 10+ years in product design, with a focus on design leadership within tech, product-driven companies.
  • Design Portfolio: Strong portfolio demonstrating successful design work that has led to measurable outcomes, including experiments and A/B testing results.
  • Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to make data-driven decisions, with a focus on aligning design work with business goals.
  • UX/UI Knowledge: Extensive experience in design optimization, user research, and UX/UI principles.
  • Attention to Detail: Expertise in design fundamentals such as typography, layout, balance, and proportion, with a meticulous approach to work.
  • Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, especially in a cross-functional environment.
  • Tools Knowledge: Experience with AEM is a plus.
