The scope of the proposed services will include the following:
Analyze and document the data conversion scope, approach, validated requirements, and the strategy for how the conversion will be performed.
Map legacy data files and elements to the new system table(s) and columns. Mapping should include translation rules, foreign key rules, among other pertinent information.
Work independently in developing program modules using SSIS ETL tool (SQL Server Integration Services) based on designs/storyboards
Create and execute SQL Queries validating and analyzing data directly from various databases
Execute team members’ SSIS programs and monitor run times
Resolve SSIS program errors and program performance issues without assistance from team members
Analyze/troubleshoot data integrity issues and data discrepancies
Perform code reviews and testing on new code.
Test conversion program modules to ensure accuracy
Test how the converted data performs within the system
Participates in all necessary team meetings and design sessions in accordance with Scrum ceremonies.
Provide technical knowledge transfer, training, documentation, mentorship, and guidance to State personnel for all requested work.
Requirements
Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas are mandatory:
Three (3) plus years of expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas:
Working in the application development field with experience using Extract Transform and Load (ETL) tools, development experience using SSIS and writing complex database SQL queries
Working in a SQL server environment
Creating and maintaining SQL server agents (SSA)
Working in a relational database environment
Two (2) plus years of experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment
Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas are desirable but not mandatory:
Experience with the GitHub Version Control System, including branching strategies for complex systems
Experience with conversion projects and processes strongly preferred
Experience in identifying and addressing data quality issues
Experience with large scale public sector IT projects
Experience with JIRA
Experience with mainframe systems and lotus notes applications
Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and interpersonal skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
