How You’ll Make an Impact

Dudek is seeking an As-Needed Survey Technician to partners with staff on mapping and surveying activities of significant magnitude in terms of complexity, cost, time constraints, internal and external staffing and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify needs and allocate appropriate resources to complete specific project tasks on
  • time.
  • Continually monitor individual progress to ensure specific deadlines and technical
  • proficiency are met.
  • Provides technical training for field survey teams and office survey personnel in the use
  • of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Trimble instruments, and office TBC.
  • Provides development of procedural standards for field and office procedures.
  • Coordinates field survey requests directly with clients, sub-contractors, and
  • superintendents.
  • Performs a wide range of calculations for construction staking/layout and
  • QA/QC of calculations and work product. This includes preparing information packages
  • for field survey teams, reviewing stake-out information, and cut sheets.
  • Supervises and or performs property, boundary, and title research.
  • Creates exhibit drawings, records of survey/T.M./parcel, and tract maps, as needed
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in Land Surveying
  • Experience with Trimble Survey instruments and software operation and ability to demonstrate to crews the latest in survey technology.
  • Working knowledge of survey instruments; Total Stations, GPS, Data Collectors
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience to complete field work for Records of Surveys, Tract Maps, Parcel Maps, Corner Records, Centerline Ties, ALTA Surveys, and all agency required certification letters.
  • Ability to effectively interact with other managers within the organization.
  • An emphasis on knowledge of construction staking and past coordination with Construction Superintendents.
  • Independent problem-solving skills; effective leadership qualities, strong communication
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams to success, including experience directly reviewing and managing employee performance, and mentoring junior surveyors
Compensation: $38.00 - $47.50 hourly *
  • *Final agreed-upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check prior to beginning employment.
Working Conditions
Environment
  • This job operates in an outdoor or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.
  • Outdoor activity may involve walking/trekking in uneven terrain over long distances in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time.
  • This job requires project site visits, based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, and moving vehicles and equipment.

  • Working on a computer, sitting, or standing for long periods of time in an office or remote office setting.
