The role of the Account Lead is to proactively manage the planning, execution, and growth of assigned accounts. This includes developing and maintaining, with support, a working knowledge of client strategy, landscape and market expertise, and translating that into successful delivery of projects. The Account Lead serves as the primary contact for clients. Additionally, this role is responsible for developing and tracking project timelines and budgets, developing and managing project scopes, identifying cross-functional staffing needs, and owning communication with external vendors.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and retain an assigned book of business
- Develops and maintains long-term relationships with client
- With limited support of Account Director and scientific team, maintains knowledge of the market and client strategies
- Strong financial acumen, ability to develop and maintain client SOWs and budgets with minimal support from Account Director
- Owns and maintains all client financial reporting. Responsible for timely and accurate forecasting of project revenue to internal stakeholders
- Delivers high quality projects with respect to timeline, budget, and aligned to client strategic need, with limited oversight from Account Director
- Serve as main point of client contact. Addresses client questions and concerns, ensures client needs are met with a sense of urgency and a solutions-based approach
- Possess strong communication skills with customers, partners, colleagues, and stakeholders, within project execution to solve problems and improve relationships
- Has in-depth knowledge of CCS core competencies and deliverables, and able to translate value to clients as well as identify opportunities to provide expanded support (whitespace)
- Partners with internal stakeholder to deliver high quality programs/services
- Other tasks as assigned
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
- Project management systems (SmartSheet, mission control) experience (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Resourceful with an ability to solve problems creatively
- Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrates strong presentation skills and ability to write succinct reports
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment
- Demonstrates professional and effective communication with external and internal stakeholders
- Business development and proposal writing experience preferred
Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in science, communications, and/or business
- Previous account management experience, preferably in a medical communications agency setting (generally, 4+ years experience)
Travel/Hours Requirements:
- Up to 25% of the time
- Domestic and international travel
- Position requires work outside of normal business hours including nights and weekends
