Job description

Job Title: UX Researcher – Usability Testing & Heuristic Evaluation
Location: Remote
Duration: Long-term Contract

Payrate: 60-70/hr

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced UX Researcher to join our team and support a long-term engagement. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, proven experience conducting usability testing, and strong heuristic evaluation skills to ensure products meet both user needs and business goals.

This role requires a proactive researcher who can work cross-functionally with design, product, development, and compliance teams in a highly regulated environment. You'll play a key role in optimizing digital solutions that impact healthcare professionals, patients, and internal stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, design, and conduct qualitative and quantitative usability tests across web and mobile platforms.

  • Perform heuristic evaluations to identify UX issues and recommend actionable improvements.

  • Translate research findings into compelling, user-centered insights that inform design and product decisions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, developers, product managers, and compliance leads.

  • Create and deliver clear research reports and presentations tailored to different audiences.

  • Contribute to the evolution and documentation of UX research methodologies and best practices.

  • Ensure research practices comply with industry regulations, accessibility standards, and internal SOPs.


Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in UX research, particularly with usability testing and heuristic evaluation.

  • Experience working in or with highly regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or life sciences preferred.

  • Strong understanding of human-centered design, usability principles, and UX best practices.

  • Proficient with research tools such as UserTesting, Optimal Workshop, Dovetail, Lookback, etc.

  • Exceptional communication skills—verbal, written, and visual.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple research initiatives and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear and concise Portfolio
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, UX Design, or a related field.

Nice to Have:
  • Familiarity with FDA, HIPAA, or other compliance and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).

  • Knowledge of design tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
