The Senior Tax Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the tax department in meeting compliance, provision, and planning goals. The position is primarily responsible for federal and multi-state corporate income tax compliance, tax provision, and supporting automation and process improvement initiatives. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, and external service providers. This role contributes to the transformation and scalability of the tax function and supports strategic growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare U.S. federal and multi-state corporate income/franchise tax returns (both separate and combined/unitary filings), including extensions and quarterly estimated payments.
  • E-file federal and state corporate tax returns.
  • Prepare international information returns (e.g., 5471s & 5472s).
  • Prepare and maintain detailed workpapers for tax returns, tax provision, and various audits.
  • Maintain and reconcile tax depreciation (book/tax fixed assets).
  • Prepare provision to return true-up for both federal and states.
  • Assist with R&D tax credit studies and other tax credits (e.g., NOL, VAT).
  • Assist in preparation of federal and state year-end tax provision calculations (IAS12).
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining tax technology and automation tools.
  • Work with external providers for tax compliance, provision, and tax planning initiatives.
  • Perform research on complex tax issues and document positions with supporting analysis.
  • Prepare sales/use tax, VAT, property tax, and other indirect taxes compliance (including information requests, returns preparation and filing, tax bill analysis and timely payments)
  • Track legislative and regulatory tax changes and assess their business impact.
  • Support cross-functional projects such as audits, restructuring, and data analysis.
  • Assist in maintaining internal SOX controls and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA or Master’s in Tax or Accounting preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in corporate tax, preferably from a Big 4 or multinational corporate tax department.
  • Strong experience with OneSource Tax Compliance and Provision (or similar tax software).
  • Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with tax process automation or ERP tax module integration.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical or life sciences industry a plus.

The base salary range for this role is $96,240 to $120,300. Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit-based salary increases, short incentive plan participation, eligibility for our 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state.  Our robust time-off policy includes flexible paid time off, 11 paid holidays plus additional time off for a shut-down period during the last week of December, 80 hours of paid sick time upon hire and each year thereafter.  Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including candidate experience, skills, education and other factors permitted by law.
