Position : ITOM Consultant (5 to 7 Years of Experience) – 3 Positions

Job Overview

Kanini is seeking an experienced ServiceNow ITOM Consultant with 5 to 7 years of experience to join our remote team. This role focuses on assessing, configuring, and optimizing ServiceNow ITOM modules, including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and CMDB, to enhance IT operations visibility and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with ServiceNow ITOM, a deep understanding of CMDB and Discovery processes, and the ability to deliver scalable solutions. Candidates will work remotely, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality ITOM solutions tailored to client needs.

Mandatory ITOM Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow ITOM modules, including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and CMDB, is compulsory.

  • Proven expertise in configuring and troubleshooting Discovery for automated CMDB population and Service Mapping for business service visibility.

  • Experience optimizing CMDB health through data reconciliation, normalization, and integration with external systems.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, configure, and optimize ServiceNow ITOM modules, including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and CMDB.

  • Conduct assessments of existing CMDB setups, identify gaps, and implement remediation plans to improve data accuracy and scalability.

  • Configure and manage ServiceNow Discovery to automate the population of CMDB with accurate infrastructure and application data.

  • Design and implement Service Mapping to create dynamic, accurate maps of business services and their dependencies.

  • Set up Event Management to monitor and correlate events, ensuring proactive incident resolution.

  • Integrate ITOM solutions with external systems using MID Servers, REST/SOAP APIs, or other integration methods.

  • Customize ITOM functionalities using ServiceNow scripting (e.g., GlideRecord, Business Rules, Client Scripts).

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including configuration details, assessment reports, and remediation plans.

  • Collaborate with clients to align ITOM solutions with operational needs and ITIL processes.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and CMDB.

  • Stay informed about ServiceNow ITOM advancements and best practices to deliver cutting-edge solutions.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow ITOM, with at least 3 years focused on Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and CMDB.

  • At least 5 years of overall experience in IT Operations or related fields.

  • In-depth knowledge of CMDB data models, relationships, reconciliation, and data normalization processes.

  • Proven expertise in configuring and troubleshooting ServiceNow Discovery for automated CMDB population.

  • Experience with Service Mapping to map business services and their dependencies.

  • Hands-on experience with Event Management setup and integration for proactive monitoring.

  • Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting (e.g., GlideRecord, Business Rules) to customize ITOM solutions.

  • Experience with ITOM integrations using MID Servers, REST/SOAP APIs, or other methods.

  • Strong documentation skills to produce assessment reports, remediation plans, and technical guides.

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes (e.g., Configuration Management, Event Management).

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.

  • ServiceNow certifications (e.g., Certified System Administrator, ITOM Implementation Specialist) are highly preferred.
