The Position

Arch is seeking a proactive, results-driven individual to join our Global Internal Audit (“IA”) team as Data Analyst.  In this role, you will be responsible for leveraging data analytics and automation to enhance IA team efficiency, effectiveness, and value delivered. The Data Analyst will also be responsible for addressing ad-hoc analytics requests, which may be aligned with IA strategic initiatives, IA audits/reviews, or SOX program support. This role reports to the IA Manager of Data Analytics & Automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Automation Initiatives: Identify opportunities and lead efforts to automate IA and SOX activities, with an orientation towards reducing manual effort and enhancing coverage and accuracy.
  • Data Analytics & Insights:
    • Utilize data analytic tools, programming languages, and big data technologies to identify, extract, transform, and analyze complex datasets for audit and SOX purposes.
    • Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and translate these insights into actionable recommendations for the IA team and / or stakeholders.
  • Data Visualization: Design and create compelling data visualizations to facilitate decision-making and communicate findings effectively for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Modeling & Forecasting: Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to build predictive models.
  • Training & Knowledge: Stay current with the latest analytics trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Ad-Hoc Analysis: Respond to requests for specific analyses, as needed.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with IA team members and other stakeholders across the organization to understand their analytics needs and deliver tailored solutions.

Desired Skills and Experiences

  • Experience with Power BI, Alteryx, SQL, Snowflake, or programming languages such as Python.
  • Experience with data engineering and the architecture of ETL processes, data pipeline development, and data management.
  • Experience with business analysis including stakeholder engagement, identifying requirements, and recommending solutions.
  • Familiarity or experience working within Agile environments.
  • Previous insurance industry experience, ideally within a global firm
  • Willingness and ability to adapt to new circumstances, information, and challenges

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field with meaningful coursework in research methods, statistics, programming, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree with research or coursework emphasizing statistics.
