This is a hybrid role, reporting to our office three days per week.

About Us

BNTO is an AI-powered “omni-consumption” subscription platform that personalizes your fashion experience with an innovative approach to new purchases, rentals, and resales.

Powered by ALMA.AI, our proprietary full-stack vertical AI solution, BNTO rethinks fashion’s supply and demand by leveraging real-time inventory data and user behavior to drive smarter decisions—not just around what to offer, but how people can access it and at what price point. By connecting rental, resale, and new purchase options through a unified inventory pool, we dynamically match products with demand in the most efficient and personalized way. This approach allows us to flex inventory across consumption modes, unlock higher profitability, and give consumers ultimate flexibility—all while reducing waste and overproduction.

BNTO is part of ViaVia Corporation, and we are a Series A company in the fashion tech space, backed by industry-leading investors including Notable Capital, Basis Set Ventures, NEA, the AI Fund, and Exor.

About the Role

We are seeking a results-driven Director of Wholesale with a sharp commercial mindset and deep appreciation for brand integrity. Reporting to the Head of Merchandising, this role requires both strategic vision and hands-on execution, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You’ll own and scale our wholesale business across 10+ labels—growing top-line revenue, expanding our retail footprint, and strengthening our global partner network.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and collaborative—equally comfortable managing department store sell-throughs, pitching new accounts, and overseeing showroom operations. You understand what it takes to build lasting relationships that go far beyond the order sheet, and you’re energized by building a business from the ground up.

Your Duties & Responsibilities Include:

  • Build & Execute the Wholesale Strategy - Develop and lead a strategic roadmap that drives revenue and brand equity across our portfolio of 10+ labels.
  • Expand the Retail Footprint - Identify, pitch, and secure new wholesale partners across premium retail, department stores, and specialty boutiques—domestically and internationally.
  • Manage & Grow Key Accounts - Own relationships with top-tier retailers, oversee seasonal buys and assortments, and ensure optimal performance across all points of distribution.
  • Lead Showroom Strategy & Brand Discovery - Seek out and onboard emerging or complementary brands that align with our vision, adding depth and relevance to our wholesale offering.
  • Drive In-Season Business - Proactively monitor sell-throughs, online pricing, and merchandising. Take action to optimize performance and protect brand value.
  • Conduct Seasonal Markets - Lead showroom appointments in NYC and Paris and represent brands with professionalism and insight. Prepare EOS recaps.
  • Support Operational Excellence - Partner with internal teams to ensure seamless account management—from order fulfillment to showroom setup and expense reporting.
  • Deliver Strategic Insights - Provide HQ with ongoing benchmarking across pricing, assortment, and competitive positioning in the global market.
  • Seasonal Travel Required - Aside from NY/Paris Market 2x a year, there will be seasonal travel to key accounts to nurture relationships, conduct product trainings, and support seasonal activations.

Your Experience and Skills include:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in wholesale, sales, or account management—preferably within fashion, beauty, or a retail-adjacent category
  • Demonstrated success managing department store and specialty accounts at scale
  • Existing relationships with major retailers and/or a proven ability to open new doors
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills; confident interpreting sales data and building forecasts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and wholesale tools/platforms
  • Deep knowledge of the contemporary fashion space
  • Experience with showroom operations, seasonal travel, and end-to-end account management
  • Self-starter and proactive communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Creative thinker with a solutions-oriented mindset and strong commercial instincts
  • Strong network of buying contacts
  • Personable and persuasive, with a natural ability to build and sustain relationships
  • Excellent prioritization, time management, and communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently and cross-functionally
  • Meticulous attention to detail, follow-through, and accountability
  • Willingness to travel regularly for markets, appointments, and retail visits
  • Comfortable working outside of rigid role definitions—ready to roll up your sleeves
  • Excited to build a wholesale business from the ground up
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; can patiently and effectively communicate with a diverse and multicultural group of peers across time zones and continents. People are inspired by you, and you are a continuous beacon of our values internally and externally.
  • You believe that feedback is a gift; you can receive and grow from feedback, and you can
  • Nimble, scrappy and adaptable with a high sense of urgency. Can roll with the punches and thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment, including pitching in to support other persons and teams
  • A positive, can-do attitude. You’re not deterred by minor setbacks and are able to swiftly overcome ambiguity
  • Will consistently cultivate a culture of inclusion where all team members feel a sense of belonging and can bring their authentic selves to work. You embody this on a daily basis and lead by example.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The pay range is $120,000 - $150,000. Final compensation, level and job title will be determined by relevant factors such as experience, skill sets and location.
  • This position may be a contract-to-hire relationship. With employment, we offer medical, dental, vision and life insurance, including a medical insurance plan with 100% coverage of employee premiums; a company 401(k) plan; flexible PTO policy with company holidays and paid parental leave; and generous equity.
