Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will be a Professional Engineer – EIT with experience in Engineering and Wireless Telecom. This role involves the structural engineering design of wireless communication projects, including new and existing building structures, non-building structures, and non-structural components. Responsibilities include preparing formal reports, calculations, and analyses, determining structural requirements with project design team members, clients, contractors, building officials, and other consultants. The candidate will also provide quality control review of engineering services performed by other engineers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural and mount analysis and design for existing and new building structures, non-building structures, and non-structural equipment, including their respective anchorage, foundation elements, and mount design.
  • Design modifications for tower reinforcing, extensions, and foundations.
  • Coordinate structural design requirements with A&E Project Managers, Drafters, Senior Engineers, Clients, Building Officials, Contractors, and other External Consultants.
  • Prepare engineering reports and documents communicating engineering results.
  • Review Quality Assurance - Quality Control (QA-QC) and final review on structural analysis reports and drawings.
  • Assist with construction administration activities, including field surveys and shop drawing or RFI coordination.
  • Perform site visits and prepare field reports to document existing site conditions.
  • Answer structure-related inquiries from internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate with building officials and other jurisdictional entities to demonstrate code compliance for obtaining all required building permits and governmental approvals.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, local, and company safety requirements.
  • Domestic travel as required.
  • Perform other engineering duties as required and assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of structural engineering experience with wireless telecommunications or broadcast towers preferred.
  • EIT working towards P.E. License with the ability to obtain multi-state licensure as required.
  • Technical communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a group, utilizing resources as required to complete engineering tasks successfully.
  • Knowledge of codes and specifications: IBC, TIA-222, ASCE, etc.
  • Proficiency in common engineering software programs: tnxTower, Risa 3D, mathcad, and Enercalc.
  • Experience in developing construction documents and performing Mount Analyses and Structural Analyses or Assessments for Monopoles, towers, tanks, buildings, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of engineering design principles with various materials such as steel, concrete, wood, and masonry, and applicable design guides and standards.
  • Familiarity or experience with steel shop fabrication processes and/or knowledge of fabrication shop tools and capabilities is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Suite products such as MS Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work within a team environment with individuals from various offices and disciplines through all phases of design.
  • Knowledge of construction practices and principles.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel within the U.S. up to 10%.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and meet the company's insurance carrier's criteria for coverage under the company's insurance policy.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • EIT working towards Structural Engineering License.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD drafting/modeling software.
  • Spanish Speaker.
