The Opportunity:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Assurance Support Specialist to join our team. In this remote position, you will collaborate closely with supervisors and department heads to support quality improvement initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance through the review of OASIS (Outcome and Assessment Information Set) documentation.

These positions are remote, so offer you the flexibility of working from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates directly with the supervisor to help with data entry relating to visit utilization, audits, and other
    tasks assigned by the supervisor.
  • Reviews patient data assessments through the OASIS to ensure accuracy, completeness, and
    regulatory compliance.
  • Utilize the SHP platform to resolve critical alerts and predictive measures impacting compliance and
    regulatory standards.
  • Rotate in filling in with coding as a backup of all OASIS types and functional reviews of OASIS data.
  • Compare the OASIS data to other patient documentation like physician notes, nursing assessments,
    and therapy evaluations to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Assess whether the services ordered based on the OASIS assessment are medically necessary and
    comply with Medicare guidelines.
  • Communicate identified issues to the clinicians who completed the OASIS assessment, suggesting
    necessary corrections or clarifications.
  • Document the reason for the change and recommend reimbursement impact for supervisor review of agency
    metrics.
  • Assist with order development and special initiatives with the supervisor, focusing on billing and quality
    metrics to improve STAR ratings.
  • Complete documentation of results review; ensure workflow processes are timely and accurate.
  • Provide coding accuracy to OASIS Assessments, as requested, utilizing regulatory guidelines.
  • Creates Plans of Care for review by Coding Supervisors.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Registered Nurse, preferred.
    • Demonstrates learning agility; seeks opportunities for teaching, support, and professional growth.
    • This position utilizes telephone, internet, Google suite, Windows, eFax platforms, and other EMR
      systems implemented by the Home Health Agency

      Requirements:

      • At least 1 year of experience in OASIS reviews.
      • Coding certification preferred, but not required.
      • OASIS certification, preferred but not required.
      • The ability to critically analyze patient data and identify inconsistencies is essential.
      • Flexibility to work within different departments of the agency as outlined in the job description.
      • Ability to problem solve quickly and foresee any potential issues/risks

      Optional/Preferable:

      • CODING Certification- Home Health- HCS-D, BCHH-C
      • OASIS Certification- COS-C, COQS
      • QA experience with OASIS SOC, OASIS DC, OASIS ROC, OASIS Recert
      • Experience with STAR Ratings and metrics
          Service Fee:

          Industry standards applicable to the state depending on work experience and level of expertise.

          Hours:

          US Eastern Standard Time (EST) – 9am to 6pm
