Job Description

ACU Software Project Manager in  in Safety and Motion, Safety and Sensorics, Airbag Control Units Korea

Mission:

The Software Project Manager plans, conducts, tracks and controls the software subproject within a development project. The SW PM is the main interface to the Project Manager / System Lead Engineer and is responsible for the successful performance of the software work products in terms of time, efforts and quality. The SW PM closely cooperates with the Quality Manager in Project SW to define and apply the project quality assurance measures.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall planning, execution and delivery of SW component that meets (internal or external) specified requirements, within agreed budget, quality and timescale
  • Identify and plan the resources and activities required for the success of the SW development
  • Track the progress of the SW development and actively report the status
  • Prioritize the activities so that the appropriate deliverables are timely available and with the appropriate maturity for all development milestones
  • Ensure the conformity of the SW development to the process
  • Manage the change requests and the problem resolution activities
  • Represents the SW discipline within the project structure and towards external suppliers/customers
  • Escalate obstacles, which cannot be resolved within the team to an appropriate management level and with relevant proposals
  • Develop the local competency for software development and project management

Qualifications

Qualifications & skills:

  • Academic degree in engineering
  • ≥ 3 years of experience on software development for embedded systems
  • Leadership skills (e.g., communication, focus on customer satisfaction, organizational credibility)
  • Project management skills (incl. effort / cost estimation, project planning)
  • Basic requirements engineering skills (e.g., collection, verification, prioritization)
  • Good knowledge and practice of Problem Resolution and Change Management
  • Good knowledge of the software development process
  • Basic knowledge of the software architecture
  • Basic knowledge about security and privacy
  • Very good communication and presentation skills in English (required)
  • Good communication skills in Korean (preferred)
  • Ownership, accountability, reliability and resilience
