About Rome2Rio

www.rome2rio.com | Discover how to get anywhere

At Rome2Rio, our mission is simple: help travellers get from A to any B. We make it easy to compare flights, trains, buses, ferries, and driving routes - providing everything users need to discover, plan, and book their journey. Behind the scenes, we tackle complex routing challenges, process massive datasets, and optimise search performance to deliver fast, reliable results to millions of users each month.

Rome2Rio is part of the Omio Group, a global multi-brand travel platform headquartered in Berlin. Together with Omio, we’re building the leading ecosystem for transport discovery and booking—serving a combined audience of over 900 millions of users globally.

Job Description

At Rome2Rio and Omio, we’re now at the beginning of a bold new chapter: launching a premium advertising business that connects our global audience with the world’s top travel and tourism brands.

We’re looking for our first Head of Ad Operations & Account Management to build and lead the operational engine of our ad business. You’ll report directly to the Managing Director, Advertising, and work across teams to streamline execution, improve delivery, and elevate the client experience.

If you thrive in high-growth environments, love scaling what works, and bring structure to complexity - this is the role for you.

What you’ll do

  • Own end-to-end campaign execution across display, native, and sponsored formats - from trafficking to reporting.
  • Manage tools and workflows across Google Ad Manager, programmatic platforms, and direct deals.
  • Oversee rate management, pacing, billing, and internal deal tracking.
  • Lead post-sale client management and drive renewals.
  • Build scalable processes and SLAs across sales, ops, and product.
  • Manage relationships with external partners (e.g. trafficking support, analytics tools).
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, Product, and Sales to unblock delivery.
  • Identify tooling gaps and collaborate with Product/Engineering on solutions.
  • Standardise reporting and support dashboard development.
  • Directly manage our Ad Ops Manager and support future team growth.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • 7–10 years of experience in digital media, advertising operations, or campaign delivery - ideally with at least 3+ years in a leadership or team management role.
  • Experience running or scaling ad operations in a digital media or tech company.
  • Deep knowledge of trafficking, reporting, and campaign delivery.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • A systems thinker who brings order and insight to complexity.
  • Someone who takes pride in execution, quality, and team success.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Google Ad Manager, programmatic platforms, or native ad tools
  • Familiarity with performance marketing metrics, attribution models, and media reporting tools
  • Exposure to media planning, rate card development, or sales enablement processes
  • Experience supporting both direct and programmatic campaigns
  • Background in travel, tourism, or international markets
  • Comfort working across multiple time zones and fast-moving teams
  • Fluency in languages beyond English is a plus
